As he says in the interview, who in their right mind would commit (as required) to build a 10k capacity by year three in the prem when the financial imbalance is perpetuated by the RFU?

The stupid thing is:

1. Championship club get lets funding as not an A shareholder
2. Championship is therefore likely to be relegated in 1 year especially if
3. All funds they get and more needs to go into a stand

As I have said before the Championship club having a smaller stadium only means they are the ones suffering as they can't maximise gate receipts and I am sure in time as all the Premiership clubs have done, they will slowly expand as funds and certainty permit.

You could bypass the rules anyway, just get someone to write that they will loan the club money if they get promoted and then tear up the agreement later on, as the person pulls the plug.  Isn't that what happened to some of these Premiership clubs that went bust?

Torygraph agrees MSA stinks. Champ clubs were fool's for not getting all details agreed upfront. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2024/10/12/premiership-promotion-relegation-play-off-in-doubt/

Time to bring this mendacious farce to an end.
Ten Harlequins players in the "Scottish" XV that beat Donny yesterday.
The PRL want all Tier 2 clubs to be like that, linked to a Tier 1 club.
The Championship clubs are being played. How could decisions on minimum standards for promotion be decided before there is even a chair of the Tier 2 Board? How could what the RFU claim they want to be a "professional league" not be allowed any representation on the "professional" Rugby Board?
Not only do PRL and the RFU not want Championship clubs in the top tier, they don't even want them in their own tier - they want them to go bust and become zombies. They have been starved of money so they have to rely on the crumbs from the Tier 1 table.
Completely agree about involving the CMA. This is probably the clearest example of restraint of trade and unfair competition in the entire business world, let alone the sports business world.
Broken down. Beyond repair.
