Hartpury 4 - 1 Coventry  - very close
Doncaster 4 - 1 Jersey - tight . . again could go either way
Ampthill 2 - 5 Bedford - Blues with lots of Northampton quality to edge it
Ealing 5 - 0 Nottingham - amazed if anything else
Richmond 4 - 1 London Scottish - Huge pressure on both teams in this game to perform . . . Scots desperation for first win could help or hinder?

Some really cracking games in great weather
Run with it

Ealing Trailfinders team to play Nottingham rugby at 3p.m. tomorrow. This is a squad that has had huge turnover from last week. My assumption is that they got an absolute bullocking, and you can see that the whole front row that allowed itself to be pushed back over the try line for a penalty try has been swapped out. Also on the bench is De Wee after his outburst and yellow card. Passion can't be allowed to get that out of hand. Overall, I think this team should be plenty at home for Nottingham, but I'm concerned that the additions from the offseason don't seem to be making the impact that I would have hoped. With the exception of Digby, this is a last year's squad minus a couple of key players (Millar-Mills in particular). Does anyone know if Will Davis is injured? I reckon he would have gotten in via the tap and go at the end of last week's match.

Good to see Nansen still with us for the extra physicality and that we have a replacement hooker today, after not having one against Knights.  8 Saints for this one - the highest number this season

Bedford Blues starting XV vs Ampthill:

15. Rich Lane (C), 14. Matt Worley, 13. Jamie Elliott, 12. Tom Litchfield (S), 11. Pat Tapley, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Connor Tupai (S); 1. Emmanuel Iyogun (S), 2. Reece Marshall (S), 3. Ed Prowse (S), 4. Brandon Nansen (S), 5. Alex Woolford, 6. Bailey Ransom, 7. Joe Atkinson, 8. Tui Uru

Bedford Blues Replacements vs Ampthill:

16. Jack Hughes (S), 17. Joey Conway, 18. Osman Dimen, 19. Oli Stedman, 20. Luke Frost, 21. Karl Wilkins (S), 22. Alex Day, 23. Louis Grimoldby

I would be really frustrated as a Jersey fan with this situation. You give your blessing for one of you best players to leave for the prem just before the season starts, only to see him play for one of your rivals for free. It’s logistically a bit more difficult but you’d think they would’ve loaned him back to Jersey.

Tigers have history here. They did exactly the same thing with home grown James Voss (2018/19 season if memory serves...Islander?), signing him from the Reds, only for him to go straight out on loan to....you've guessed it, Coventry!

To be accurate, Voss was loaned to Cov four months after moving to WR.
They'd obviously decided he wasn't going to make the grade as he subsequently signed forms at Cov.
Richardson has only been brought in due to a long-term injury to prop Luc Jeannot which occurred a few weeks ago.
None of it can really be described as 'exactly the same'.

It's good to see a decent prop like Richardson get game time with any Championship club rather than train for weeks on end without playing. I note that Ciaran Parker didn't make the London Irish squad this weekend - Jersey could have given him valuable game time at Donny but no doubt if Irish loan him out Mond or Scottish will be the beneficiary.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Hartpury.  0 - 4 Coventry  Cov should win but ....

Doncaster 1 - 4 Jersey Doncaster underperforming Jersey pack look good

Ampthill    1 - 4 Bedford cannot seem to get Blues result right

Ealing       5 - 0 Nottingham  cannot see any other result

Richmond  5 - 0 London Scottish the mother of all local derbies I have seen Scots 4 times this season and they have not impressed Richmond no 8 long time London Scottish captain should be interesting

2 of the Saints spent over a decade at the Blues. There has always been a movement of players back and forth between the 2 clubs.

Personally, I have never had an issue with clubs getting loan players from Prem clubs. It is a 2 way street. Especially in these difficult times.
Some of our better players move up and some of them, or others move back. The fact that a club has entered into a close relationship with a PL club should not be derided.
These relationships give opportunity to Up and coming championship players as well as those in the PL fold who need game time to prove their worth.
However, the strongest bonds are those made by sides who have a consistent playing staff throughout the season and team will always beat hired help….IMHO
