Given that in most matches, the ambulance just sits there. If you have a paramedic and a doctor and a team of physios trained in first aid - with a properly stocked medical room - then having the ambulance on call is probably sufficient - and that is what most amateur and semi pro players have. And the only time we have needed the air ambulance to land, was to bring extra morphine for a Shelford 3rd XV player. His studs stuck in the ground as he chased down and tackled from behind, and his leg tried to move in a way legs don't.
