Eh hang on- Nottingham beat Doncaster a couple weeks ago without us being Leicester Tigers B team…(although yes before anyone points it out we did have 3 DR’s playing in that game- but arguably that’s a reasonable number) hate to say it but rather than looking for excuses maybe… shock horror….. Doncaster just aren’t that good at the moment?
Just a suggestion *shrugs*

I think Doncaster’s problem like Pirates was after having such a physical battle with Ealing they both weren’t quite at their maximum and Scottish are benefiting from that. You only need to be slightly off your game to be toppled by most other teams in the league.

I think it depends on which Doncaster turn up. Very 1970’s France either superb or awful and no in between.
Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better

That’s a fair point. If you get a referee like yesterday who just lets a team lay all over the ball at the breakdown and kill it every time you get near their line it’s hard work. Donny were poor, Scottish were no better than mediocre and the ref was appalling. It was a terrible game. Donny lost the penalty count despite absolutely dominating territory for the last 50 minutes, work that one out as to who’s fault it was. Scottish were offside all game and should have had at least 2 yellow cards and Donny should have had a penalty try in the first half for a clear maul collapse when we were definitely going over the line. If the ref had actually done his job properly at that point it could have changed the game. Scottish played the referee and got away with it.

Perhaps it's a cunning plan by the premiership team(s) to stack the team that is playing a promotion ambitious side to make sure they don't finish top?

It's easy to blame the ref if you lose.

I have to say I have wondered that from time to time but surely not?. Mind you nothing would surprise me when it comes to the RFU and Premiership Rugby.

There is no good reason to want to when the league above is a confused mess of pro and semi pro clubs, competing in a staccato season as part of a league lacking any core identity or sustainable plan for the future. No thanks.

There are plenty of clubs in ND1 who have DR's.

Rams get Saints
Dings Crusaders get Bristol
Sale FC and Sale
Leicester Lions and Leicester
Plymouth Albion and Exeter
There are probably more than that.

Rams get Saints …. ?????
Where do you get that from please?
We used to have the odd London Irish player, think the most we ever had in one game was 3 …
Last season we had no one ….
This year we’ve had a couple of Bath players in one game so far …..

Sorry I got that one confused, I think with them signing makepeace-cubitt from you.

Although my point about DRs and loans duffles throughout ND1 as much as Championship stands.

Quins fans were very critical of the ref this week.

Apparently, he was ignoring people going off their feet - but penalised players who were on their feet and competing legally. They were even criticising when he penalised Ben Earl for what they saw as a legal turnover.  So I think they might have a point.

Note - I was out and about and have not seen the game.

I also know being a ref is hard work, as I was terrible at it.

I would also say that the players that the Premiership loan to Nat 1 sides are not necessarily that good. They have a lot of potential, but need game time. Some are just fat slobs who can push a bit if they can be bothered.

Some of the academy rejects are significantly better, Ben Spencer and Jamal Ford-Robinson come to mind.

It looks like it is going to be another classic season in National 1.
Anyone who thinks they know who will win this far out has not been paying attention.
After all, Cambridge only led Nat 1 when we won the league.

LOLLOL

And yes, I remember the Blood and Sand's Nat 1 winning year, a brilliant three horse race between yourselves, Sale and Rams (all of which beat each other twice during that season)!

You were equal on points at season's end but went up at Rams' expense that year by virtue of having drawn one more match (so less overall losses than Rams, rather than on for/against points difference which I haven't often seen). A hard pill for Rams to swallow as just one more try in a single match would have earnt them a TBP or LBP and sent them up! A classic Nat 1 season.

Surely Rams won't let history repeat itself and will keep banging away at those 5 point wins this season (although they dropped a point at BS on Sat).

Or kicking the penalty in front of the posts away against Plymouth Albion in the last 2 minutes and get the draw for 3 match points instead of 2 but instead going to the corner to try and win the match and get 5 match points and not score …. 🤦‍♂️🙁🤦‍♂️🙁🤦‍♂️🙁

Jumbo - Cov have no prem players as they can afford to go without. Not a real comparison.

I think Kvesic is a premier league player ( by that I mean the standard of play not he belongs to a prem club , every time I have seen him he has been top class )
