Ealing 29 (BP) - Saracens19 (3T) FT - Ealing just gave up one of the all time stupidest tries that I have ever seen. With a wing flying downfield for a sure try, he passed inside and the man was hauled down. At the next phase the ball went loose and Saracens hacked it down field for a length of the pitch try. Ealing have had at least two tries go begging in the last 5.

Congratulations Ealing, great result.
I want you all to line up in a circle and pair up in three's alphabetically by height.

Meaningless?

Did this match move the world off its axis? No.
Did it change the fortunes of Saracens? No.
Did it improve Ealing future prospects of Premiership rugby? No.

But …

Did 2000+ have a good afternoon out?
Did 46 professional players bust a gut for themselves, their teammates, their fans?
Did Saracens fans turn to their Ealing neighbours and congratulate them on their victory?
Could Ealing have done more than beat the 23 chosen to oppose them?
Did Ealing improve their chances of progressing in this competition?
Does the Championship not gain some vicarious kudos from this match? …

Meaningless?
Shame on you.

Speak softly, but carry a big stick.

Agree with the criticism of Moseley Mauler for a snide, worthless contribution. Pity that when some leagues have a rest week, a small number of supporters have nothing better to do…

Pity there are still refs who believe the crowd have come to see them perform !

Thanks for the correction John. I must have missed that in the very busy commentary.

It's tricky keeping track, especially with the 6'2 ratio of forwards to backs
on the bench when Coventry needed at least three spare backs this time with injuries and yellow cards.

Interesting how the results have gone especially with many of the Championship clubs losing their Prem DR's for the cup and it shows in the results The championship clubs who have little or no DR's doing best.
Not sure of the logic of the cup going forwards if that situation continues especially if the RFU want Prem clubs to have 15 DR's. What happens in the Cup then when effectively Prem Clubs team faces their Championship clubs

I think your mistake is applying logic to anything the RFU do workerbee!

Logic of the Cup going forward.
Cov have not played EITHER Leicester or Northampton for well nigh 30 YEARS.
If the Cup assists in changing that then so be it for me. Smile

It doesn't feel that long since Leicester beat us in the cup at CR, John.
I'm sure it is, just doesn't feel it!
