BAND OF BROTHERS MAKE IT 4 OUT OF 4!!!
BY MIKE BROWN AN HOUR AGO SHARE Share via https://www.billinghamrugby.co COPY #wecontinuetobuild Lymm travelled to Greenwood Road full of hope to put one over the unbeaten Billingham outfit. After a stalemate in the first 5 minutes where both sides were sizing each other up, it was penalty that broke the deadlock when Peter Evan's stepped up to kick the 3 points. It wasn't long before Lymm zipped back in to Billinghams half and earned themselves a penalty which dispatched with confidence. The forward pack helped Billingham get over the half way. Solid runs by Clark and Sunley saw a ruck on the 22. Quick call from Finney found Elliot Husband who waltzed unaided through Lymms centres found support Luke Wilson to cross the white wash for the first score. Evan's converted. Billingham piled on more pressure on the kick return. A pass slapped down by a Lymm player saw a yellow card earned... questionable decision but one made nonetheless. Billingham called for the scrum and showed their dominance in the set piece. A few phases and Dan Burns barrelled over from 5 metres. Evan's kicked the extras. Half time 17-6 Billingham were now fizzing. Some dancing feet and an offload found Ben Walton who galloped from halfway down the wing, outpacing 2 players before going over wide. Extras missed. 22-6 Next on the scoresheet was man on fire Matt Kirby and stepped and dummied his way to the try line confusing his opponents. Lymm now looking disheartened with their youngsters heads dropping Billingham sensed blood. Following an injury to Finney, Conner Foley made a quick impression by pressuring his opposite number who made a mistake dropping the ball, Foley kicked on, picked up and dotted down. With Billingham now dominating and Lymm looking dishevlled, Jordan'mad dog' Foulds snaffled a Lymm mistake carrying over a players back over his own try line meaning a Billingham 5 metre scrum. James Watson coming off the back of the dominate Billingham scrum and going over taking 2 players with him! Evans nudges the extras from in front of the posts. 39-6 And to reward the front rowers performances Jordan Foulds grabbed some meat pie of his own after barreling his way to the try line. Evans kicked the extras. 46-6 Compliments must be given to Lymm. A young side who are clearly building again and doing so through youth. Keep it going....it works we can vouch for that!! Its 4 from 4. We will enjoy the drinks tonight but the focus return to Blaydon next week. |
