I still can't get my head round playing on Christmas Day.
(Don't even like Boxing Day games TBH. The thought of going to a match while seriously under the 'day before' weather makes me feel slightly ill. Yes, I know all about the W. Mids derbies of yore ).

Welford Road, Tigers v Barbarians was always a great rugby occasion, mixing in the pubs and on the terraces with Internationals of the day and a great game to watch, biggest casualty of the amateur game for me.

There were probably at least as many internationals involved in the W. Mids derbies of the seventies, TBF
