I thought it implicit that I was referring to the futility of the competition from a Championship (ALL clubs) point of view, but evidently not.

Extraordinary - and I absolutely think it's been written by AI (as suggested earlier by Trailfinder)

That would pre-suppose some level of intelligence. Certainly none of that patricular commodity is on display here.

Using Gemini and the prompt ""Can you write a 200 word summary of a rugby match between Coventry and Leicester Tigers?" I received the below, accurate summary.
Coventry Rugby secured a historic victory over Leicester Tigers in the Premiership Rugby Cup, ending a 32-year drought at Welford Road. The visitors dominated the first half, scoring four tries to establish a 26-5 lead. Leicester fought back in the second half, with replacement prop Archie van der Flier crossing the line, but Coventry's Senitiki Nayalo sealed the win with a crucial try. The final score was 33-19, marking a memorable day for Coventry and their passionate supporters. |

If only we could have, I have to say even though the 1st half appeared one way traffic, it most definitely wasn’t, some of the defensive hits by the Falcons in that first half were impressive, we worked very hard and looked like we would score on a few occasions only to be undone by their solid defence. Looking forward to the return fixture.

Cov's first win at Welford Road since 1991/92, brilliant result, well done everyone, not least the Cov away support who drowned out the homesters.
Northampton at the BPA on the 23rd looking as if it could be a sell out & ground record. Are you watching at the RFU. Some hope !

Which is excellent news for Cov, but even more galling fro Chinnor and Cambridge. Listening to the new head of Prem II, I was struck about how he was talking about France doing everything as the 30 sides, and thought -yes well everything here is done for the good of the ten and sod the rest. I also realised that there are going to be Premiership sides without matches in the kock out phase - as at most 8 are invilved. Chinnor and cambridge could have been offered home games those weeks against mystery Premiership sides - announced after the previous weeks matches, which while not as easy to sell, would have been something.

That would be a good idea, surely not too late to organise as that stage is still a few months down the line? Or if not, at least play some matches against Prem academies.
Have Cambridge or Chinnor approached the Army, Navy, RAF for fixtures during those blank weeks, or Oxford or Cambridge University? Maybe one of the top BUCS sides also if free. I saw that Cambridge have a fixture against England U20s, why not see if Wales, Scotland or Ireland U20s fancy a match too. It takes some imagination, but where there's a will there's a way, especially as it would bring in some much needed £££ that both Cambridge and Chinnor have talked about so much in the last few months.

I am sure hte committees have been working hard. But nothing else has been announced. Cambridge 1923s played matches against the services last season. And of course, it also plays the Blues.

Re Wales U20s. Nice idea but I expect a good number of those lads are playing for Exeter, Briz or Bath amongst others.
