Great match at Paton Field,
Top against bottom, really?
Talking with some of the  Cov travelling faith, after the game and they said that Caldy didn't deserve to lose
Good rugby folk, too
Good luck to Cov for the rest of the season
Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana

Was it 14 unanswered tries for Ealing today?!

As the Mob DoR, what on earth do you say in the changing room after that drubbing of over a point a minute? I've no idea. Did Ampthill have any/many Sarries DRs with them today?

Donny and Pirates in unchartered territory down the bottom with Caldy, who must have thought they'd finally get a win today. When or where they will get one is anyone's guess.

A bit of an eye-opener for Chinnor at home today against Hartpury. With less than 50 minutes played it was 0-34, and it should have been more, and a 50 to 60 point hammering looked on the cards. Chinnor had conceded numerous penalties, kicked restarts straight into touch and failed to find touch with penalties.

However, they showed great spirit in the final 30 minutes to score 19 unanswered points. It wasn't enough, but they showed they have the ability to play at this level, but they need to improve the discipline and cut-out the unforced errors.........

Hartpury looked a decent all round side, and fly-half Balzagette controlled operations for them.

Attached is a full report for anyone interested.

Official attendance was 903, so it must’ve been -100 before those extra 1000 supporters flooded through the gates.

I honestly think that Ealing needs to work on counting attendees. I know the capacity of the various stands around the pitch; and they were full enough that the number of bodies in them had to have been over 1000 yesterday. I know Ealing often doesn't count kids under 16 or people coming on bring-a-friend tickets. While they get little gate revenue, based on my own son's cadging of at least £10 of sweets and food each week, they certainly get some bar takings.

A local derby amateur match immediately after the Ealing - Ampthill game also likely contributed to the arrival of a goodly number of additional folks by half-time.

After the main event Ealing Trailfinders 1871  the amateur team played a  Brunel University team the crowd did swell during  the Championship game with hundreds of students following their team . Ealing Trailfinders won 34 to 29. Both teams promoted to counties 1 Herts and Middx L7 This season.
The crowd attendance for a Championship game was low.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Thanks to all the Pirates supporters who made the long journey East, and the equally long journey home.
Fan like those are the bedrock of rugby.

At least the weather, which had made a mess of the curtain raiser - the first Ladies' Town v Gown - was  good.

I think the Pirates scored every time they got into the Cambridge 22, so we must tighten up our defence in that sector. Though, the plan of not letting them into the 22 seemed to work.

An excellent win in a hard fought contest. A short break, then on to Doncaster looking for an away win.

True, but I am struggling to get excited by the "Not the Cartel Cup".
We will need to play a lot better than we did on your recent visit.
Unfortunately, I will not be there.
