To find extra (different) fixtures for those clubs that wanted or needed more games.

The league authorities in our area (Lon/SE) issued a dictat a couple of months ago stating that under no circumstances could any rearranged league games in L5 or below occur after April 6th, even if this meant playing at Easter. Not sure if this was successful, or overtaken by the cr@p weather in Feb/Mar, or similar dictats were issued in other 3 regions, but anyway...

Same in the North hardly any re-arranged League games as the official line was no League Rugby after  6th April. Quite sure the only one's being played are Teams not entered in the PJs.

I realise there's a whole league campaign (bar the one game already behind us) before this, but... has any detail been shared about an end-of-season cup comp in April/May next year?

There is a women's one this year. https://help.rfu.com/support/solutions/articles/103000221225-community-game-update-july-2024

But I can't seem to see anything for a men's one. Disapprove
