No panic yet.

Leagues were announced end of May last year with fixtures a fortnight after that.

(At least in South West Rugby)

L6 was published at the same time as L3-5.

Exactly - while many might like to know who their fixture is the day they play their last game of the previous season, but that's not realistic. Start dates have already been circulated, so clubs know when their league commitments commence and can plan training & pre-season around that date. Hard-working volunteers might even dare to have a tiny bit of down-time during May. If they hit the 'by 14 June' target, there should be 12 or 13 weeks' notice of the first league game from when the fixtures are announced, which is plenty of time to plan a game...

Mark, I hope London Welsh don't have to play 225 League games next season, like you did this ;-)

Though for some fixtures, travel/hotels needs to be planned and in certain cases, the earlier the cheaper, the better! Big smile

But certainly for me, its just the  wanting to see what's to come next season to get rid of some of the off-season blues!

Its a long way for Macclesfield to all those clubs in the South West - I played for them years ago and live in Bristol now so not too far to see them play down here!

Interesting comment about train lines as sides did travel to away games by rail years ago - not quite sure how expensive it was in those days?

Not too bad for my club Stockport next year and nice to meet up with Stoke again- thats been a few years.

And the L&SE ones on rfulondon site too. Considering how people were waiting anxiously & with varying degrees of impatience through most of May, it’s been quiet on here now they are out…

None of the clubs I've seen have put theirs out on their socials yet. Probably because they didn't know because the RFU did what they normally do and release them very quietly on a site no one uses except for this. Plus when you tried to check matchbydivision, it kept redirecting you to last season

It was announced yesterday on the Community Rugby newsletter which promptly led to the fixtures website crashing on and off for 24 hours presumably because of the number of players and supporters trying to access it.

I've just had a peep at this forum for the 1st time in a long time. What I will say from our perspective, while Alnwick is only 32 miles from the Scottish border (169 miles 2 hours 52) it is quicker and easier to get to than some of our previous journeys to Lucs (175 miles 3 hours 32), Bridgnorth (146 miles 2 hours 50) It has also brought back to playing teams who I played against before the advent of the league structure and numerous miles closer.

The ground is as good as ever. We had a bit of a wobble at the start of last season but pulled it round with some great results 2nd half of the season. I see Nuns have bounced back to level 5 after a season out. We have a fine batch of younger players who have come through our pathway and with some help from Will Robinson have now matured into good level 5 players. We played Sandbach in the PJ cup and it was good to see some of the old faces up there. Hope you're keeping well and still commentating.

Thanks my friend, We had a very close season and only settled promotion at the very end. We too have seen our Colts develop into 1st team players plus a few old hands and players returning having had seasons at a higher level. I have taken a break from broadcasting following the demise of Wasps, Covid etc. and just enjoy watching the NUNS. Good luck.Big smile
