Association football have a petition being debated in Parliament to let fans in on Monday. https://twitter.com/Ollie_Bayliss/status/1324984085492752385

Why does rugby not have their own one saying let us play?

I thought it was a rugby decision to cancel 2020/21 season level 3 and below.

Well let's hope that today's news is a glimmer of light at the end of a very long tunnel. I'm not so sure that the vaccine will be in time to save this season, but there is a good chance that we will be able to watch some live rugby next season. Fingers, along with everything else, well a truly crossed on this one.

In my humble opinion
The vaccine, assuming it continues to provide positive results in the next stages of testing, will go to NHS frontline staff, then individuals with serious health conditions and trickle down via we over 60's.

Whether fit young women and men will get it to enable them to follow their leisure pursuit is harder to quantify

But if the people with more serious health conditions are no longer at the same level of risk, then restrictions can be opened up as there should be fewer severe cases (fewer patients with co-morbidities that are a risk factor). I don't think everyone needs to be vaccinated to get back into stadiums for games as we may well have the rapid tests available. There may still need to be distancing, masks, reduced numbers indoors but by protecting the vulnerable you shrink the risk of overwhelming the NHS and when pigs fly, maybe Test and Trace starts to work properly.

Do we really expect the RFU to be able to start up
the leagues again considering their normal ineptitude?!

I do hope you're right and that the regional RFUs can come up with something between now and May.
