Have to say the league does not throw up any real surprises to me, the four "R's" at the top with Blackheath and Plymouth bringing up the rest of the top half. Mose and Storts in the middle with perhaps the only surprise Dings in there, they seem to blow hot and cold each week, is it the supply of Bristol players, or just inconsistency?
Are Sale not getting any Sharks, they have gone from near promotion to under performing quite starkly? The bottom four seem to be in the right order, occasionally pulling off a nice win, but just not controlling their own destiny. From my own perspective the Lions have just not got that instinct yet that saw them promoted so well, a very young side gathering experience, will they pull off another Houdini like escape as they did last season, well it is in their hands. At the top I can see the top three changing hands and go to the wire again, who will be top is anyone's guess, I don't see the others in the top half pulling off a surprise. The league has a balance that rarely seems to change, mostly same ones challenging, same ones entrenched in the middle and those who are yet to build a big enough squad fighting for every inch. There will be changes, but I think the league has a look about it that may well change little.
