He will probably follow Finn Brown on loan to Bedford.  It's what the big clubs do, they hoover up the talent, spit them out, then another one Hoover's them again to loan them to a club they have ties with.

Blues are loaning a Bath booker at present, so it’s possible.

Not sure what the RFU put into the prem academys but they don't work, radical overhaul needed,.

Didn’t see this prior to the pre-Xmas round, perhaps as Hartpury don’t have much of a presence on RM… but they confirmed after game on Sat that John Barnes was leaving after 14 years - that’s quite an innings…
Just checked via Google & see Bristol announced him as their new Head of Academy 4 weeks ago.

Out of interest

What would working look like for you?

Most prem players come from their club's academies don't they?

Yet another example of the ineptitude of the RFU to look after the interests of the game in England.

Cambridge Rugby can today announce that Head Coach Richie Williams will be stepping down from his role following the Championship fixture vs Bedford Blues on Saturday 28th December.

Richie has led the club since 2018, becoming one of the longest serving Head Coaches, including guiding the team from the bottom of National League One to promotion to the Championship in 2023.

“On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Richie for his hard work, dedication and commitment to Cambridge Rugby during his time here, which has included some of the best moments of success within the club’s history. We wish him the very best of luck in the future.” Tim Hague – Chairman.

Anthony Allen will take on the role of Head Coach on an interim basis, and will be supported by forwards coach Neil Harris, whilst the club review and consider the coaching team options ahead of next season.

Understand, he was under constant pressure from the board. The money spent the club are better suited at the 3rd tier currently.

A strange decision mid-season, if indeed the club don't have a replacement lined up already and will review/consider options for next season.

Richie Williams had done well at Cambridge (with minimal resources) and should be congratulated for his successes. Perhaps it's become apparent half way through their second season in the Champ that realistically he has taken the team as far as he can, and new personnel are required to keep Cambridge at Level 2 if/when relegation returns and if they stay in Prem 2 when it commences.

Out of interest, was Williams pushed/did he jump, or was it by mutual consent? The complete hammering at Ealing last weekend may have been the final straw. Either way, good luck to him with his next venture if he moves on to another club.
