Talking of Jersey’s amateur team (yup, true) - Storm Darragh has caused flight cancellations, so our game at OAs tomorrow is OFF

Fantastic result, Karlos! I was saying yesterday that Brighton are one of the better teams we've seen at ODP so far, despite their position in the table. Too many teams seem to have given up hope before they even walked out of the changing room, whereas Blues came to play and could have grabbed a try bonus that day.

Cheers Mark, a much needed win, the lads were buzzing after the game.
Looks like the top 3 will stay much the same till the end of the season.
Bit of an arm wrestle down the bottom end.
See you in Feb.

Fair play to Brighton, winning against their nearest (in the table and geographically) rivals - would have been quite a gap if TW had prevailed...

Jersey's trip to OAs confirmed as rescheduled for last Sat of Jan.

Just seen the Welsh vs Camberley score.

Welsh scored twice in the first 15 minutes, and Camberley were never really in it thereafter. Their first scrum they shoved us backwards at a rate of knots and won a penalty, but when they opted for another scrum they lost control at the base and we were able to clear. The next scrum was fairly even, and by the end we were shoving them backwards and winning the penalties. By early in the second half, frustration set in and they started giving away silly penalties amd giving us field position. We weren't at our fluent best, and we were all blown away by the final score as we expected a tight, high-scoring game.

Would anyone know when the Papa Johns Cup draw is thought it was done prior to Christmas on league positions?

No idea. The RFU have been very quiet about it since July where they mentioned it was being reviewed. The women's one has been going along but there's been nothing from the men's competition at all. No public entry opening and closing dates or anything.

Preview of Jersey RFC trip to Bracknell - https://jerseyrfc.rfu.club/news/jersey-rfc-vs-bracknell-rfc

As mentioned in the preview, some weather uncertainty which means there is a plan B for today's game involving the all-weather pitch at Maidenhead - not yet confirmed whether this option will be needed or not. How are other pitches looking?

Big run of 5 straight games for JRFC, including the re-arranged match at Alleynians three weeks today. London Welsh look to have a run of what appear to be more straightforward fixtures against teams in 6th/10th/11th/12th - but of course, no easy games...

Bracknell v Jersey has been moved to all-weather surface at Maidenhead & will KO at 1.15pm. Not ideal solution: hosts had a lunch planned while visitors have longer journey + reduced warm-up time (Maids 2nds playing at 3pm) but great to have found a pragmatic solution given the non-refundable costs of travel...

thanks RM - missing your Saturday fix from N1/N2?! Smile

Twells winning chez Wombles quite a turn-up; & Hammers were below Horsham this morning.

Getting 5/6 games on was an achievement - saw 4/6 games were off in R1SE

We were following the game on social media, saw Bracknell come back from 0-14 to 14-14 but when Jersey went 14-28 ahead we thought it was all over. But then Bracknell scored again, and Jersey went down to 14, and during out HT break we were avidly watching the last couple of minutes on the livestream. Bracknell have given you a couple of tough games and look very good at times but lack consistency - not sure I've ever known a team with three wins from 14 sitting in the top half of the table before.

We were poor in the first half, turned around 12-10 ahead, but two tries in the first five minutes of the second half turned the game in our favour. Eight tries to two looks fairly comfortable, but we only started to relax in the last five minutes or so. Been really disappointed with a number of visiting teams this season, but Alleynians came to play and deserved more, particularly based on their first half performance.
