Its funny because last season, the league forced Tunbridge Wells to play a home game that would have been postponed a 2nd time at Havant, despite the fact that Havant had been offered some neutral 4G alternatives that they refused and there were some free dates later in the season. Reminder that this was BEFORE this rule magically came into being mid-way through this season. And I know a few clubs were not happy about that either. It seems very odd that they would formally bring this supposed "precedent" into force half-way through a season. It seems contrary to fair play and open competition if you're forced to play at the oppo's ground for a home fixture. Yes, by all means mandate the finding of a neutral ground as an alternative but there really no need to specifically mention play at the opponent's ground.

I guess they are anxious to avoid a fixture pile-up, but with 5 free weekends between new year and the scheduled round 22 there seems to be plenty of slack, unless we get a major deep-freeze.
That said, I see Alleynians v Camberley is already off tomorrow... & both clubs already have re-arranged games for 25/1, so will have to move this game into Feb. Jersey v CS will be ok tomorrow unless there are travel issues, as should the Maidenhead/Bracknell derby on the all-weather. Not sure confident they are at Brighton, TWells or Hammers of 'getting it on'?

Old Alleynians with quite a result handing London Welsh the league for them to lose (they are too classy to do that though)
Exciting news though with the Cup competition fixtures being released in a knockout format it seems. Banbury away at Oundle (tough away day!!!) - seems a lot of top clubs in South Central have opted out strangely enough (London Welsh, Jersey, CS Stags & Wimbledon) |

Yes, a great result for Alleynians - they were good value for the win, and celebrated with gusto. Disappointment, but no complaints, from JRFC as a 7-game winning streak ended. Discipline and inaccuracy were an issue, and some key players missing with it having been a free weekend initially (same for OA).
We were on the pitch nearest the clubhouse, it was quite heavy and has a fair slope, which the hosts said was typically worth a couple of tries. So turning round 26-12 down seemed ok, especially when there was a YC to OA and we scored under the sticks within 7-8 mins of resuming - probably favourites at that stage. But credit to the home team their levels barely dropped and they claimed 10pts from 'uphill' visits to our 22 to stretch clear. The last 10 mins were exciting: directly after two more cards in quick succession for OA - the second for chat - we scored two tries to reduce deficit to 34-29. But the OA XIII then pressed upfield and scored their final try, and that was enough, with the final Jersey try & con being the last act. Really enjoyed the day - nice weather and a warm welcome, with excellent lunch washed down with HepCat IPA from a local brewery. And if there were any neutrals there, what wasn't to like, with 12 tries and rugby from both sides that belied the underfoot conditions? With an 8-pt lead, LW look heavy favourites now. In addition to needing to winning at ODP, we'd have to win all our other games and hope the Exiles would be downed again, with their trips to CS and Wimbledon being outside chances for this - can't see it. I can't speak for the other clubs you list T-m, but the cup isn't realistic for Jersey; our travel is pretty much all booked in Jul/Aug and short-notice trips in either direction during Easter school holiday period are challenging and expensive to arrange, especially in a competition where entrants seem to regularly cancel games at short notice. There's also a focus on our local derby, the Siam Cup against Guernsey, which is on May 3rd...
