The original matrix did say 16, but has now been amended to 14.

It is still not aligned correctly though as the Midlands league should be next to South West!

"It has now been confirmed that the increase of the Championship (Tier 2) to 14 clubs will result in a reprieve from relegation at each level of the pyramid. That will be on ‘Best Playing Record’ down to Level 6 and follow on down through the Regional 2 reprieve club’s CB leg"

But, and it's a BIG BUT, have the RFU actually confirmed 14 clubs in the Championship next season?

Sweeney is the chief exec, and he's confirmed this during recent media interviews... I also doubt very much that RFU London would have broadcast this 'reprieve' information if they hadn't had a definite steer

I can't find anything "Official" to say the Championship will be 14 sides next season. If you have a link from the RFU then perhaps you could share it.

We could have a long debate about whether something coming directly from the RFU Chief Exec is official or not. I'd say it was hardly unofficial. He addresses it during the final half hour of this podcast... https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-good-the-bad-the-rugby/id1524156217

This would be a great shame for Rotherham. Harvey has brought success and stability to the Titans during his year or so with us. Everything down to our social media presence has drastically improved. It is the first time in years that the club feels to be on a stable footing. The team he has built is nothing short of brilliant. We were expecting to be in the dog fight this season, hoping to be mid table but to be Third is an amazing achievement by Harvey, the players and the Club.

If he does leave we will all wish him well and thank him for taking us back to Nat 1. You cannot blame someone for taking on a full time role but I would be extremely wary of taking a job at Worcester. Without the RFU gifting them a place at level 2 and an extreme amount of money being put into re launching the club I can see it crashing and burning once again.

If it wasn't sustainable before, how will it be now?

Who knows.

I'm sure all their creditors will be delighted to have them back and to re-open supply chains (always assuming the previous unpaid debts didn't put them out of business) Still think this is unforgivably immoral and shouldn't be happening

My working life was spent in Corporate Recoveries. I can only imagine the joy on the faces of the butcher, bakers and candlestick makers who are still owed £s.

They may have a ground, but have they got any infrastructure / players?

Enjoying life!

Completely agree. The whole thing stinks. Sickening.
