I hope things turn around for DMP. Me and my dad were very surprised to get the result we did away to DMP this year.

If the club own the ground then demolishing it and selling the land off maybe a good revenue stream and help the club out in the future.

The football team play just around the corner, could a temporary ground share work out?

According to Wiki DMP own the stadium.

I Believe that the club is no longer a members club, but is owned by a businessman Ged Quinn. There is a company that owns the Arena but Mr Quinn resigned as director of that and the club 8 months ago.

The accounts for both look very sad indeed.  Pretty sure the ground will be sold, but I thought there was a sporting covenant on any possible future sale, but may be wrong.

Exeter/ Twickenham Mk II with housing around - the residential / commercial and the sports ground meeting the covenant, even the S106 contribution

I’ve heard that an announcement is almost imminent. Strong speculation that the current stadium is going to be demolished. Land sold to a supermarket and in return a 6000 seater stadium will be built on the current footprint in return, this will then be shared with the football club. No idea what timescales will be but I imagine it will take a while for planning etc.

Does either club need 6,000 seats?
Is there a risk it could be another - albeit smaller - white elephant?

From what I understand if the football club ever want to play in the football league their ground needs to have a 6000 capacity. I assume that’s why that number was arrived at. Think the football club get around 1800 for most matches and DMP probably around 700 on a good day.

I thought there was a plan in place for a sporting village on the site but that was a few years ago when the country’s financial climate was a bit better than now

You can play in the FA Premiership in a 5000 capacity stadium, apparently.

It's similar for the Football League too.  Technically it's 4,000 capacity, but increasing to 5,000 (with 1,000 seats) by the end of the first season. This must increase to 2,000 seats after 3 years.
Having said this, 6,000 is more typical in League 2 and Darlington FC are only 2 divisions away from this level.
