In principle, yes. One each from the 3 Nat 2 leagues. 

It might still depend on whether the winner of Nat 1 (promoted) and 1 other from Nat 1 (invited) both move up to the new Champ/Prem 2 for next season when it expands to 14 teams.

However, I can see it being Worcester that will be 'invited' to the new league, so only 1 up from Nat 1 and 2 down to Nat 2 leagues. That'll mean another re-jig at that level.

Still a way to go of course, but could it be Leeds, TJ's and Camborne coming up to Nat 1? That would be a great geographical spread!

That is the current plan of record.

Tier 2, whatever it ends up being called after the rebranding exercise, should be 14 teams.

Including all 12 of the current clubs, plus the team that tops National 1 and one more by invitation - probably Worcester.

Relegation should resume the following year.

But, negotiations are still ongoing - so who knows.

Anyway there’s plenty of threads to debate on the Championship.
 The reason I published the table on here is to encourage debate about THIS season.

Richmond are probably the new favourites but they still have to play Rams at home and us at Clifton Lane. Our run in looks extremely tough though with visits to Bishops Stortford, improving Esher, Rams, Plymouth, Blackheath & Rosslyn Park. It doesn’t get any tougher. It’s good though that the Roth mentality is one game at a time. It’s the next game, that is the focus.

As regards, who goes down, that again depends on whether the can I referred to earlier gets kicked down the road, and if it does, will it be two or three to be relegated? If three, that brings a lot more teams into the equation.

I agree with you RM2, Richmond would be my favourites to win the league now, but to be closely contested all the way by Rotherham I believe. The Roth v Mond fixture will be massive.

A month or so ago I would have said Rams were favourites, but they have faltered once too often now in my opinion (which for some reason has been a trend for them over the last 3 or 4 seasons?). In Nat 1, its very difficult to lose 4 or more matches during the course of the season and expect to win the league. Their form has been iffy since pre-Christmas.

Aside from injuries at Rams, it is odd is that their captain and top try scoring talisman Max Hayman has been on the sidelines for about a month, apparently due to some disciplinary/issue that occurred against Blackheath. I can't find any information about this though. Does anyone know what it is about as their title ambitions have certainly suffered without him on the pitch?

At the bottom, I would say that Leicester and DMP will be relegated, but not without a few more twists and turns in the next few months. It is great to see the likes of Sale and Esher turning around their form and beating some of the top teams, it keeps everyone on their toes!

Didn't realise only 2 went down, thought it was 3!

That's a shame as the bottom 2 look gone but it would have been a really good battle for the rest to avoid that third spot. 

Rams just can't seem to ever get the job done. Every season they lead the league but end up faltering. Richmond looking good now but can't rule out Rotherham the way they've gone this season.

What was it about the way it was conducted that left a bad taste (excusing the pun)? 

Is there a link to the RFU disciplinary hearing findings? They certainly used to be publicised once proceedings had been concluded.

You should add that he was found to be doing so in response to being fish hooked by a Blackheath player. If someone is causing injuries to your mouth by inserting their fingers into you and you have no other way of preventing them, I would like to know how you would react. 

I still struggle to understand how his actions weren't found to be self-defence, but there we go. I am just looking forward to seeing Max back in action, he is a great player and very exciting to watch.

The new Rosslyn Park who've thrived then faltered for the last few seasons 

On the disciplinary issue, perhaps retaliation is frowned upon. I'll take a look for the papers.  A very long read.

Hayman 6 weeks (bite disproportionate action, limited evidential proof of fish hooking, video shows contact around the mouth only, although view hidden for about 10/15 seconds)

Blackheath hooker 2 weeks (physical abuse, doctor's report)
