“Dave” Cattle ?

Have I missed something or is this the usual BBC accuracy 😂

Dave played for Wales, according to this article… so he’s ahead of Gavin on that front. I wonder if they’re related?!

Pirates finished bottom of Pool E but Cattle blamed the exit on "restrictions in training" due to the Penzance-based club's 17-strong injury list and is prioritising his squad's health and fitness before they return to Championship action on 21 March against London Scottish.

"We've got a massive injury list but we've got a bit of a stint now and hopefully we can regenerate some of those boys," said the former Wales scrum-half who shares coaching responsibilities with Alan Paver.

"There were 23 boys available this week. When you're in that position you're limited to what you can do in training because we can't pick up another knock so you just have to do what you can do that's controllable.

"We did have a plan in place but we've been tearing up our plan every week with the numbers we've had."

I'd be interested to see which other championship club fielded 5 players (should have been 6, but one was taken ill on Friday) at the weekend who played in their mini's and junior sections....do the majority of these clubs even have those?

I know Donny and Ampthill do (as do Cambridge, who aren't in this years competition).

So, anyone care to say how many club products for Donny and Ampthill represented them on Saturday?

I thought you would, but didn't know mate

Caldy were also missing 3 players with lots of championship pedigree that were also M&J players

On top of that, we have around 7/ 8 local lads, who have been with us for the best part of a decade, from our National 2 North days
