Yes, it's good to see one of the three part time 'Cs' making a decent fist of it at Level 2.

Another cumulative (93 - 27) hiding for Cambridge and Caldy today, neither troubling the league table points total. These results will likely become even more frequent when Warriors join the fray next season. Cambridge and Caldy ought to do some more meaningful player recruitment if they are serious about remaining in the league when/if relegation ever returns.

I like your reference to the “part time Cs” from this I assume you are a Rs man ?
I see your Rs hasn’t done too well again , always the bridesmaid.
Do you still get up the Rs much these days ?
Come on Se7en get out of your closet and let us all know which Rs you really like.

'Part time Cs' was really just a catch-all phrase to save time on typing. Glad you liked it, you can have that one on me and use it if you like.

With regards to the 'Rs' you mention, I presume you mean Richmond, Rosslyn Park, Rams and Rotherham? All top clubs with their own character and, along with the likes of Albion and Club have provided a compelling National 1 season again. It even has promotion and relegation too, what a great initiative that is.

I like all of the 'Rs' but sadly i'm not able to 'get up' and watch any of them at present. I therefore keep my interest going right across the board in terms of leagues and clubs. Not sure which 'Rs' you mean by bridesmaids, but someone has to be I suppose. Rosslyn Park and Rams have both fitted into that dress from the closet of late.

Touché Se7en do I detect a sense of humour there ?
Your appreciation of promotion and relegation surprises me a little as you don’t seem to have any time for “part time” clubs (who have many volunteers and limited resources)being promoted into a part time  / semi professional league and performing no worse than the bottom end of a “fully professional” premiership
Constructive criticism I welcome but to just bash and disrespect clubs that have earned the right under current rules to be where they are in the league structure is just petty.

A sense of humour? Perhaps. And yes I am full of surprises, although being an advocate of jeopardy, promotion and relegation should not come as any suprise. It is fundamental to any league in any sport worth its salt. A fact that the Premiership, but also many hypocrites taking the moral high ground at tier 2 have been quite happy to ignore as they try and grind out an existence whilst treading water on the pitch. You have mistaken my honest, to the point appraisal of the situation with 'bashing clubs and showing disrespect'.

Thankfully, with Worcester and Richmond joining next season, those part time clubs that have in all honesty been on borrowed time for a couple of years now, will be found out and sent packing as they simply aren't up to it, both on.and.off the pitch.

Will this be a popular viewpoint on the forum, I highly doubt it. Does that make it an invalid viewpoint, absolutely not. Suffice to say that it is fine with me if we agree to disagree before this becomes too tiresome. Besides, it's Masters Sunday and and I want to see if Rory McIlroy may finally get to put on the Green Jacket.

Nerve touched 😂

Is that a viewpoint or just sour grapes ?
I welcome both Worcester (by default) and Richmond ( who have been promoted ) to the league next year and wish both well.
“As they simply aren’t up to it , both on and off the pitch”  really come on Se7en you are making yourself look ridiculous
Hope Rory is ok
You seem like the Rs

This does rather make a mockery of Ampthill’s status as a club. I wonder if Dave Ward knows what he let himself in for?

The chance to work with Saracens players was probably a selling point...

But will he know who he’s working with from one week to the next?

Why does this make a mockery of Ampthill but all other clubs that use loan players, which is all of them, are not mockeries?

Are Hartpury a mockery of a club? Caldy? London Scottish? Chinnor? etc etc etc

Ampthill are a community club running 5 senior men's sides, women's sides and the largest Mini and Youth in Eastern England.

They have strong links to Saracens.

All other clubs in the division have strong links to a premiership club and loan players, other than Ealing in all probability.

DR players are not an unalloyed boon, they can make team coherence from week to week a problem, but they are the only way that clubs without vast wealth can function at this level

You may think you are sitting on a moral high horse but it looks more like a hobby horse from where I am.

When it reaches the stage where the loaners’ home club is posting Ampthill match reports on its website, then yes, I think it has gone too far.
