Here's hoping there's more participation next week, because it almost looks like in one case (though I could be wrong) that 1 club has a pretty much straight route to finals day after winning just 1 match based upon the fixtures available on the RFU site.

I am reliably informed that 36 Reg1 clubs (so exactly half) entered the PJC this season… but that’s not to say they all competed in it… various withdraws/walkovers etc

Somebody told me that five of the eight Tier 1 fixtures resulted in home walkovers last weekend. Camberley lost away to Brixham in one of the three that did take place.

I have to say I was personally surprised Welsh chose not to take part, if you don't mind me saying.

I don't mind at all! I agree with you- I think it was a good opportunity to make a Twickenham final, but I think the coaches' view is that the players deserve a rest instead of extending the season by another 4-5 weeks.

12 team leagues have already provided the players with adequate and regular breaks throughout the season.
Scrap this joke of a tournament and get back to 14 team leagues which if played Sep to end of April still provides blank Saturdays

when we got promoted back into national league that period was invaluable to plan/ recovery/ recruit/fitness etc don't need the distraction of a badly thought out cup competition
