Worcester have already been active with recruitment offering salaries which even some of the top teams in the league cannot match. It will be interesting to see where they get their players from. It will certainly impact a number of squads in the league as they will need 30+ players. I would assume that they will try to recruit an academy as well. The merry go round will be spinning this summer.

Is the salary level they're offering in the public domain?
Not saying what you're saying isn't correct, just wondering where the information comes from.
If it is correct, then every club in the Champ (except Ealing) will be vulnerable to poaching.

Haha I wouldn't be so sure. I am considering a trip to Penzance this weekend as, rumour has it, a rugby match is due to be played but with a cricket score in the offing which would certainly be entertaining.

Oh, actually, it's a long way down there on Easter weekend, better blame the RFU and start making my excuses now. Its plain to see that they really are a malign force and the cause of every ill.

Is it the RFU's fault it's Easter?

It has always been a good weekend for sport and Pirates have to travel or someone travels to them.

No its certainly not the RFU's fault it's Easter, nor Pirates' fault that they have a home game at Easter. It's more a case of whinging on The Wirral I believe, for the RFU have seemingly conspired against one particular side to make them travel a long distance on Good Friday.

Of course that [is one of the few things that] isn't the RFU's fault...

But scheduling the furthest-flung opponent (Caldy a couple of miles further than Doncaster, according to my Google-Mapping) this weekend isn't ideal...

The Ravers' away coach journeys are the stuff of legend, as documented colourfully (and with no hint of journalistic licence Wink) by Big Eddie, but this would really test the stamina, even with an extra day to recover after getting back to the Wirral in the wee small hours of Sunday

Had I still got a pair of boots and was to be approached to join, I might be asking for my wages paid in advance were I a full time pro player, you just never know.

Will Worcester bother with an academy in the first year?

Obviously, if they have long term ambitions, then they will need one, but the first order of business must be to win the league.

Which means having a stronger side than Ealing.

Also, what about a women's squad?

It all adds up.

The Worcester Warriors budget for 2025/26 is between £800k - £1 million (it would apparently have been £1 million - £1.2 million but the delay in the confirmation means it looks like some sponsors bailed) ....

My source is an agent, who has had dealings with them ....

But if you break that down to say 35 players and say 10 backroom staff, then it's not that much money ....

Which of the multiple published comments reporting that Chris Holland told an open meeting of over 300 people at Sixways that he wanted initially only to be competitive in T2, hopefully amongst the top 5, have you failed to notice?

Less widely reported, was the laughter in the room when someone asked what happens if we won in the first season. I think the word “disaster” was in his thoughts, but what he actually said was “that would clearly be a problem”.

Be rather embarrassing for the RFU and co if Wuss were at the bottom of the league wouldn't it?

That's actually quite interesting, so Matt Everard is going to coach a team NOT to win to many games, that's quite hard, since the first law of rugby is that your forwards dominate the opposition forwards and then your backs decide how many you win by ..... I can see some interesting team selections if WW perform better than expected in the early and middle part of the season ....

Can’t see any whinging from the Wirral regarding an Easter fixture in Cornwall ? Or any conspiracy theories regarding RFU for that matter.
Are you just stirring the quagmire as usual Se7en

Remind us again which game / team will you be visiting / supporting this weekend ?
