It has always been a good weekend for sport and Pirates have to travel or someone travels to them.

No its certainly not the RFU's fault it's Easter, nor Pirates' fault that they have a home game at Easter. It's more a case of whinging on The Wirral I believe, for the RFU have seemingly conspired against one particular side to make them travel a long distance on Good Friday.

Can’t see any whinging from the Wirral regarding an Easter fixture in Cornwall ? Or any conspiracy theories regarding RFU for that matter.

Remind us again which game / team will you be visiting / supporting this weekend ?

Thumbs Up

There was a pitiful post on another thread describing the hardship of Caldy having to travel 300 and something miles on Good Friday, along with a post on social media asking what the cost/point was of them (their club) travelling to Pirates this weekend. Anyone would think they didn't want to play in a league covering all corners of England, or honour their fixtures list. There was also a ten a penny dig at the RFU implying that it was their fault/poor planning.

As I've previously stated, at present I'm not able to attend matches for a number of reasons that I won't go into on a forum. Suffice to say, I still have an interest in keeping informed on the goings on with a number of sides across a number of leagues, from the England national team down to the Counties leagues.

I hope that is OK, and that not being able to attend matches live doesn't preclude me from being able to contribute my viewpoint on the forum, whether popular or not.

Best time to travel for a part time team! Don’t have to take holiday and can have a holiday down there.

Something has to change, otherwise professional rugby as we know it will slip away. That may suit some.

Genuinely sorry to hear you are unable to attend live matches (hopefully circumstances will eventually allow this)
However I don’t understand your constant and vitriolic criticism of certain clubs “ pitiful , whinging, grinding out an existence , whilst treading water, as they simply aren’t up to it both on and off the field”
Really!!
Come on let everyone know your allegiance, at least we can then have a ridiculous pop at your club.
Caldy won Nat 1 and were promoted into the Championship under then  current rules/ laws at the time should they have declined this opportunity to be in tier 2 and doffed their cap ?

What seems like a pitiful post to one troll just seems like someone being allowed to contribute their viewpoint to very many others I would have thought.

Just my viewpoint of course. Popular or not!

This kind of sniping and backbiting is what allows the PRL and RFU to run rampant as we scrabble over crumbs.

gerg,

What makes you think RFU/PRL take any notice whatsoever of anything that goes on here, or on other forums for that matter?

I don't think that they do, but I do think that rugby folks in general should be more upset about most of the pie going to a small cartel, and less upset about which clubs take which scraps from the top table.

I was not complaining about the fact that Caldy have to travel 373 miles to Penzance. The point I was trying to make was that the RFU took no account of the fact that it was Easter and traffic down the M6/M5/A30 would be horrendous which would add time onto a journey which would be 9/10 hours Minimum in a coach. This week and Xmas week should be looked at to ensure local Derby's if possible. But of course the RFU do not look at fixtures logically

"Local" derby for Pirates is Hartpury which is 223 miles from Penzance, but I know what you mean.

Why resort to targeted name-calling? It is like being back in a playground and, aside from embarrassing yourself, it is tiresome and detracts from the actual topic of conversation, which I believe is why the majority of posters are here.

I'll leave it at that and determine that its best to simply agree to disagree, if only to prevent further personal insults.

Why can't people edit their quote posts?  Some are ridiculously lengthy. It's not that difficult.......
