Quite a lot of this has been discussed in the 'Longest Journey 25/26' (Clubhouse Chat)
But moving on to the league itself, if the current positions remain as is I guess Barnstaple & Syston will be promoted along with a level transfer from 2N, which I believe will be Lymm. This will add to the excessive overall travel in this league (I guess at least twice that of 2N & E?). As I mentioned before returning Henley & Oxford H to 2W and moving Syston/Hinckley or LS to 2E might balance it up a bit. Any thoughts?

My understanding is that since the last restructure, there is no such thing as level transfer. The idea was that every year they take all 42 National 2 teams, and work out the best way to divide them between 3 leagues with the shortest possible total travelling distance.
Theoretically, this could mean that the leagues needn't even be North, East & West - it all depends on where the 42 teams are each season. Whether this actually happens, who knows? We can only wait until the decision is announced.

The level transfer does exist, but the best way does not unfortunately Dagfish.
Agree with wait and see, as for the RFU following the best way??!!

42 clubs, split into 3 = leagues, based on some form of assessment of geographical synergy which is hard to follow and can't realistically be second-guessed. Whether you call it level transfer or best way, it comes to the same thing, doesn't it?!

You would think that yes but with "Level Transfer" came a few caveats as follows:
- a right of appeal (although very seldom successful) - a club that was relegated would be guaranteed to return to it's home region - there was also something about a club couldn't be asked to do it twice within a certain time period Now it's a case of chuck the 42 post codes into a computer and you go where you're told (none of the above caveats now apply)
