For Tier 2 the minimum essential standard in relation to ground standards in 25/26 is:

• 2000 capacity
• minimum of 200 seats
• minimum of 500 covered place (including seating and/or standing)

A simple Google search provided this information from the RFU Feb 2025 Minimum Operating Standards for entry into Tier 2 25/26 season.
Watch Out - The Scottish Phoenix Club is on the Up!!

I didn’t mention anything about presuming to be promoted. All I did was to comment that we look to have considerable strength in depth, not to mention a new attacking coach to support the DOR.

I am well aware how difficult this league is but equally aware of what Workerbee is saying, the implication being that what’s the point of winning the league if you are not going to win promotion due to failing criteria.

I have not read the criteria or whether sides need to meet criteria by a set date, which I believe happened with Worcester.

I might be wrong on this but my understanding is that Richmond and Rotherham applied last season but Rosslyn Park didn’t. As I say that may not be correct but I recall seeing it somewhere.

Neither do I know whether Roth passed the audit or not but it became irrelevant in so far as last season was concerned.

I am not involved directly with the club but, looking from the outside, the structure seems to be at a very high level compared with before, and I would be very surprised if they didn’t meet it either now or within a required time frame.

As I said, this is not in any way presumptuous of winning the league, but as always is the case, any ambitious club has to prepare for that possibility or eventuality. Make no mistake, this is a very tough league.

Pretty presumptuous to talk about being promoted before the season’s started.

Does Rotherham's ground meet Champ Criteria? After this season there will be no promotion unless your club does.

My word. With the addition of the players announced today, together with the bulk of the retained players from last season, Roth are building a very powerful team which bodes well for the coming season.

Hat tip also to Henry Walker who was playing for Ealing in December. He wasn't on for long but he kept it tidy.
His opposite number on the Leinster bench was Ronan Kelleher.

From a Nat 1 relegation scrap for Chinnor just a few years ago, Elliot Millar Mills finds himself playing for Saints in an epic European semi-final win against Leinster. Great story.

It looks as though three of the starting backs from the Sedge game are missing, but some quality replacements.

PS Millar-Mills again on the bench for Scotland.

Back at Chinnor for Friday's game against Rosslyn Park !

Just read Millar-Mills a prop has been called up by Scotland. I'm pretty sure he was playing on loan at Chinnor last year. Clearly a good location to boost your international career.

Millar-Mills made three appearances for Chinnor on loan last season

And one for Scotland this year.Clap....interesting period of the game to come on too...he had been picked to play against Bishops Stortford at this time last year.
I did a report of the Chinnor vs Bishop's Stortford match last season. Millar-Mills didn't get a single mention !!

I love the frank views coming out of Chinnor....as will Big Eddie. A bit of player information too.

In a week when former Chinnor player Elliot Millar Mills was called up to the Scotland squad and Fin Theobald Thomas , who was playing last month in National One, now playing in the Prem and European Cup it shows the quality of rugby on offer and the pathway works, one in the past that Louis Rees Zammit along with Josh Adams has turned out for Cinderford. This time last year Millar Mills playing against Taunton who featured star winger Feyi Waboso, the next time they come head to head could be the Calcutta Cup.

It does seem somewhat incongruous that England are happy to select Feyi Waboso, who would almost certainly be playing for Wales had he been admitted to Cardiff University (the admissions department can't be too popular at the WRU) and Ethan Roots after half a dozen games for the Chiefs, who has played for NZ Maori and spent the 2 previous season at the Ospreys. Yet won't select players who have been through the England pathway and represented age group and full International with distinction. Through no fault of their own they were out of contract and were picked up by French teams. They now play for fantastic teams mixing with world class players and in different environments which can only benefit them as players, and why wouldn't you maximise your earning potential ?

In an interview with Radio Cornwall last week Bill Sweeney said why would you not want the likes of Wasps and London Irish in the proposed Prem 2 as they are such wonderful brands? - There are probably many creditors who could think of a few million reasons why not.

So if the RFU were running the FA the Corinthian Casuals would be parachuted into the Premiership and the two biggest stars, Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, would not be selected as they have the temerity to play abroad. I think it's time to scrap the rule and pick the best team, the game in England will grow because these players are playing at Galactico clubs.

Great kid. V fast winger.
Will is a dual registered player from Northampton Saints academy. he's made 4 appearances and scored 1 try so far this season, Don't think he has played for the Lions since he started against Bishops Stortford at the end of November.
