SA are ranked #1 in the world.
NZ are ranked #2 in the world and worried about their lowly position.
Australia are ranked #6
Argentina are ranked #7, and beat the Lions.

So the Lions presumably ranked somewhere below both England, who beat a full strength Pumas side,  and just above Scotland

And cannot play in the rain.

I don’t fully understand the anti Farrell comments test series won 2-1 no other losses except Argentina.
2001 Graham Henry. Series lost
2005 Clive Woodward. Series lost
2009 Ian McGeechan. Series lost
2013 Warren Gatland. Series won
2017 Warren  Gatland. Series drawn
2021 Warren Gatland. Series lost

First attempt not too bad .
Not saying I like all his decisions but results speak for themselves.

Am I the only one here that thinks Andy Farrell’s bias towards Irish players has been a bit embarrassing?

I don't understand Farrell on the bench when he covers 10 and 12. They say Earl can cover centre so why not pick Marcus Smith who can cover 10 and 15?

Because Marcus isn't related to the head coach.

6:2 always involves a bit of a gamble; I guess a back-three injury would mean Huw Jones going to wing as he’s played a bit there, with Farrell into midfield

Kinghorn can cover 10 if needs be as well as 15.
Yes the guys have played well, but the selections have been very weighted towards the Irish and his son..

Who put that bit in brackets and italics? It suggests that that wasn't included in the original quote.

I've caused confusion. I added the brackets. The quote was from World Rugby officials confirming the on field decision following a complaint by Schmidt. It did read that the try could be rescinded on first reading, honest.

I think it's the phrasing of 'world rugby officials' that has confused things. I take that to mean the officials on the day. i.e ref, assistants and TMO who officiate for World Rugby, reviewed the incident at the time and gave it the all clear

I can see why someone could take that to mean the world rugby hierarchy though.

Obviously Australia can complain and seek clarification on that decision through the appropriate channels, but there is/was no chance of a post match change

I think FHLH is reading too much into this.

The quote says the officials didn't turn over the try.
For me, that means the on field officials nothing more.

I seem to have missed the report of Australia asking for the try to be overturned after the game as all I can see are stories of them asking for an explanation of the decision which is entirely different and something that happens on a regular basis.

Could someone provide a link to a story detailing the request to World Rugby to overturn said try?

Thanks.

Overturn the try after the game??

who said this was reviewed after the game? the (match) officials reviewed it during the game, decided it was ok, and the game resumed (albeit only for 1 kick)...

Reviewed on Tuesday 29th following a complaint from Australia

A Lions tour isn't complete without some moaning about the referee.

All part of the background noise nowadays.
