I agree Robb, on the face of it, we could have 3 out of R1SC (Welsh upwards, Brighton & Horsham downwards) replaced 'like-for-like' by Worthing (from N2) Farnham (2SC) & Scottish (2Thames).

BUT... R1SW seems to have too many potential clubs, with Ivybridge down, Chew Valley earning the reprieve and 3 SW teams coming up: Topsham (2SW), Drybrook (2Severn) and Newent 2MidsW), while Barnstaple swap with Devonport. I make that 14 clubs, so 2 would have to shift across to R1SC (which would then itself have too many) or perhaps R1Mids.

There may be knock-on permutations/complications further north as well, with - for example - some remaining uncertainty about who will finish bottom of N2N and claim the only relegation place, currently there are 5 teams up there at risk, with last games not for another 3 weeks...

Above thoughts entirely unofficial & liable to be wrong/shot down. Informed by the key spreadsheet at https://www.rfulondon.com/forms/prom.pdf

I remember a very strong Marlborough side playing at L6 in Regional 2 SC a few years ago. Upon being promoted they shifted across to Regional 1 SW so perhaps they could come back across to R1 SC again. They've certainly had some long trips down to Devon and Cornwall.

Given they play at Civil Service (I understand), I think it is logical that it will be a straight swap. I think the fact Medway instead of Beckenham got promoted from SE means there probably won't be any unexpected surprises.

Chew Valley (38pts, 7 wins) from R1TSW look to have clinched the reprieve for the six sides placed 11th, getting 5pts yesterday and having one win more than Percy Pk (NE). Silhillians (36), Brighton & Harpenden (both 35) & Stoke (34) also missed out... (tho' this isn't official).

Well done too to Champions/promoted sides Rossendale, Skiwifruitpineapplegrapefruitthorpe Confused, Syston, Oundle, London Welsh & Barnstaple...

Yes, I heard that* in the clubhouse after my last post. So TW's 4th try made the difference between staying up and not...

* result i've seen 31-39 actually, but same outcome
Not sure about one of the conversions as one flag up, one flag down.
A good game all the same...

Well done LS amateur. Just need London Irish Wildgeese to follow next season and then all the Exiles clubs will be on the up.

For the ordinary purposes of conversation, a superficial knowledge of many things goes further than an intimacy with one or two.

No reprieve for Horsham this time as Percy Park in the North have 36.

Congratulations London Welsh, very well deserved throughout the entire season

Amazing result at Horsham and yes islander it would be incredible if Horsham escape in the final day two years in a row both times beating big teams at home

If only it were that simple.

They bounce between midlands and sw leagues every few years.

There is still a 'lucky loser' opportunity for one 11th-placed side at tier 5 to avoid relegation due to the expansion of the Championship. Currently Percy Park from R1NE would get this reprieve, but looks as if the other five R1 leagues could all claim the spot on April 5th if results fall their way. How extraordinary if Horsham did this two years running?

Brighton, go for a 5 point win & then fingers crossed.
Any good pubs around Putney, Hammers & Fulham area?

Yes - still a live issue at the bottom, with all 3 contenders away from home...

Brighton (30pts) at Hammers, Horsham (34) at Maidenhead & TW (35) flying to Jersey. I believe wins is the tie-breaker? In which case TW (6) would have the edge over Horsham (5) & Brighton (4)

Looks very exciting at the bottom - Brighton have finally found some form (is that three wins from three?) and with TW visiting Jersey on the final day it's all to play for. I think Blues have been rock bottom all season, so if they could survive on the final day it would supersede Japan's win at the Amex in 2015 as the Miracle of Brighton!
