Joel Matavesi is to leave Blues at the end of the season for France National 1 side Bourg-en-Bresse, to join his brother.

Apparently there could be quite a few leaving at the end of the season, which is a shame as we have built up a decent squad with no weak links.

It's a cliche isn't it

Like blaming the half backs when the ball never goes "along the line"


They're easy to blame and are partly responsible.

They also get most of the credit when it goes well.

Hooker Scott Buckley joins Ealing on loan from Munster until the end of the year. He replaces Henry Walker, who left for Northampton. We really missed him this last weekend, as Matt Cornish is injured and our 3rd choice hooker lost every line out after he came on.

Bristol have signed Harry Bazelgette from Hartpury on a short term deal. Ironically to cover their prem cup game. I have to wonder how there isn't a 'cup tie' at all.

Understand, he was under constant pressure from the board. The money spent the club are better suited at the 3rd tier currently.
 

A strange decision mid-season, if indeed the club don't have a replacement lined up already and will review/consider options for next season. 

Richie Williams had done well at Cambridge (with minimal resources) and should be congratulated for his successes. Perhaps it's become apparent half way through their second season in the Champ that realistically he has taken the team as far as he can, and new personnel are required to keep Cambridge at Level 2 if/when relegation returns and if they stay in Prem 2 when it commences.

Out of interest, was Williams pushed/did he jump, or was it by mutual consent? The complete hammering at Ealing last weekend may have been the final straw. Either way, good luck to him with his next venture if he moves on to another club.
