Am I the only one here that thinks Andy Farrell’s bias towards Irish players has been a bit embarrassing?

I don’t fully understand the anti Farrell comments test series won 2-1 no other losses except Argentina.
2001 Graham Henry. Series lost 2005 Clive Woodward. Series lost 2009 Ian McGeechan. Series lost 2013 Warren Gatland. Series won 2017 Warren Gatland. Series drawn 2021 Warren Gatland. Series lost First attempt not too bad . Not saying I like all his decisions but results speak for themselves. |

SA are ranked #1 in the world. NZ are ranked #2 in the world and worried about their lowly position. Australia are ranked #6 Argentina are ranked #7, and beat the Lions. So the Lions presumably ranked somewhere below both England, who beat a full strength Pumas side, and just above Scotland And cannot play in the rain. |

Ireland ranked 3.
That Lions team did look like a poor Irish team. Luck wasn't with them in test 3 but helped in test 1 (no Skelton or Valentini) Bench choice was poor. I'd fear for a similar selection against NZ or SA.

It just seemed that the Lions never really got going. The first test was seriously poor. The second test seemed so stop start that I would be surprised if they lions went more than 3 phases. The 3rd test was woeful. The Lions would get pasted against both NZ and SA.

To be fair to the Lions losing 2 second rows around half time and being left with one line-out jumper who could be easily marked out destroyed their line-out in the second half. Two good chances were lost because of this which you would expect them to take. Also the 40 minute lightning break played even further into the Wallabies hands allowing their big men to recover and play the full match.
I am not sure the Lions could have fought back and won without these set backs but believe it would be a close thing. Any team losing its first choice locks for half the match would struggle.

Whilst I thought too many players were selected on reputation rather than current form, I thought the tour went well. It did however highlight two facts, the Australians were not fully prepared for the first test, due in part to their season not yet begun, one warm up game not enough. Secondly the Lions were looking fatigued in the last test, probably due to players tired at the end of a long season. Maybe Lions tests should be played mid season, instead of the Autumn Internationals, with one test being at "home"(England, Wales, Ireland or Scotland) against France, Argentina or Pacific Nations side before they go to the host Nation south of the equator.
