Unaccustomed as I am, we have a full week of fixtures. Drybrook see the students off, Exmouth continue with their good home form, Ivybridge halt the run of the Fishermen, Launceston ease their relegation worries as do Newbury Blues, big win of the week goes to Maidenhead who turned over league leaders Barnstaple with a convincing victory. Meanwhile in the prediction league, Star performer this week was Dingbat with 5 Clap. At the other end of the scale were Mr KFC & Red Pete with 1 Ouch. So the league looks like this.

Surrey Ben                     92

Barum man                    85

Front jumper.                84

Seaside mafia               81

Lucky                             79

Mr KFC                          78

Dingbat.                        78

Friendly prop                 77

Sidelined                       75

Town                              75

Green machine.            74

Right Flanker                74

Red Pete                        72

Maidsboy                       72

Fat Bear                        72

Anorak.                          69

Brix Phil                         69

Trftrf                               69

Newbury Blue               68

Braders 1875.               68

LockNLoader                59

Gopher  72                    49

I would guess that the Uni's priority is now the BUCs league so that might help. Wink
It is all to play for at the top but points on the board always count for more than games in hand. As to the other end it might be only one team goes down depending on what happens to YC in the championship.

Thought the BUCS Champs had finished with Durham Uni topping the table and Exeter 2nd?
Agree about the unpredictability (is it the most unpredictable league nationally this season?) Blues have beaten Barnstaple, Maids and now WSM at home but still 2nd bottom and will probably have 2 win 3 of last 4 games to survive the drop.
Okes are the best team 2 visit Monks Lane this season IMO and wouldnt be surprised if they finished 2nd to Barum who Blues visit next and will be smarting from the heavy defeat at Maids.

I think the league part has finished, but they now have a cup comp?

I am guessing FP is referring to the plight of Yorkshire Carnegie - if they collapse then it could have a knock-on effect down the leagues with one less team being relegated. This is similar to London Welsh three years ago - Barum finished 3rd from bottom in N2S that season but escaped relegation because one less team was relegated. Mind you that was know well in advance so all teams knew the score that season.

My most unpredictable side this season has been Ivybridge, lost count of the number of times I have got them wrong. The Uni has also been un-predictable this season as you say - interesting that they have both scored and conceded the most points in the league thus far, must be some kind of record?
I think the title is still wide open providing either Weston or Maids can string together a strong finish. Barum need to win two of their last three games and that is going to be very difficult for sure given our form since Christmas and the strength of the opposition. WSM v Maids could well be a deciding factor.

Exactly that BM. It will be interesting to see with the RFU bailing them out last season. There is no money for the drop to Nat 1. It'll be all down to further sponsors being found.

Could it also be that 3 go down from this league? Even with a team short, would it not just mean that 11, rather than 12 sides are relegated from the 4, level 5 divisions?
