I hadn't realised so many people from the North-West went to race meetings at Goodwood!

On the basis that all the announcements including the Scottish gov advice mention Northern England not sure any off them no where Lancashire is. Friends in Northumberland are spitting mad pointing out they have one of the lowest C19 counts of any country.

(Which is of course why they have such a low rate!)

The test events for limited crowd attendance (Cricket, Goodwood and Snooker) are going ahead without any crowd as of 1st August.

This is in response to the outbreaks largely in the North West - not sure why outdoor events in the Birmingham, Surrey an Sussex are taking the hit?

Unfortunately, This doesn't bode well for rugby with crowds in the coming months.

Probably political. Boris was elected by the goodwill of the North so he can't be seen to be favouring the south too much.

Utter garbage, the Tories swept the south and midlands, outside of inner London. The extra 12 northern seats, merely turned a comfortable victory into a very safe win. Do try and keep your political views out of a rugby discussion.

Politics have a direct effect on all aspects of rugby and should be allowed to be discussed without soap boxing in my opinion.

A good example is sport in all schools ( especially in the  inner city areas )  and the demise of rugby pitches and school budget cuts for games and rugby qualied coaches . This is a direct link to political policy.

Can we discuss politics with a clear proviso ?.

Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Good luck with that. You can't even mention a certain team or several players by name without censorship...

[/QUOTE" in the North West"  must be the North West Midlands,  nothing to do with the real North West.

We might all be in a better state if the rugby community ran politics and the political community ran rugby.

Couldn't do a lot worse could they?

There's plenty of other places to discuss politics, let's stick to rugby here.

Thank you.
