Bridgnorth v Syston
Broadstreet v Sheffield
Bromsgrove v SKiwifruithorpe
Burton v Sandbach
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors
Dudley Kingswinford v Oundle
Newport (Salop) v Nuneaton

Usual rules
1 point for a win
1 extra for 4 correct
full house gives you 10 points.
Good luck to all.

So........ an intriguing season awaits! Possibly 3 promotion spots up for grabs but who wants them? And who will be happy to stay where they are knowing there will be no relegation? Some of our clubs seem to have had 3 or 4 warm up games, others less unless they just haven't been publicised and some already have competitive County Cup games under their belts. Add in some probable Covid interventions and who knows what we'll end up with. Happy to be first on the scoreboard with my predictions in the hope that more will follow by the end of the week........ Here goes!
Bridgnorth v Syston AWAY The visitors to fare much better than previous visits to this level and I'm taking them to nick this one
Broadstreet v Sheffield AWAY Sheff will have too much for Street
Bromsgrove v Scunny HOME Promising pre-season for Grove, less so Scunny whose recent Level 4 experience won't be enough to turn over the home side
Burton v Sandbach HOME Trickiest one of the lot for me this one. I expect both clubs to be top 6 this season, Bach possibly top 3 but just the fact that Burton will be desperate to kick off with a win at their new home swings it for me
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors HOME Expect this to be reasonably comfortable for Donny
DK v Oundle HOME But not by much!
Newport v Nuneaton HOME Looks to be some excellent recruitment at both clubs and Nuns have often spoilt Port's party in the past but I expect (and hope) that home advantage will prevail

I will put predictions up later in week.
T'will be interesting to see how clubs emerge, I will be watching more local games and getting back to real grass roots rugby clubs I have not visited for a while.
Will be good to just be playing again whatever the standard it will be more entertaining than Lions or England. I expect some DORs will be peddling the tale of promotion giving more gate money and sponsorship yada, yada so my guess is some clubs will be seduced by this dream and will continue recruiting.

Bridgnorth v Syston = Away win (Bridgnorth saving up for a pitch that does not flood so reduced playing budget!)
Broadstreet v Sheffield = Away win
Bromsgrove v SKiwifruithorpe = Home win
Burton v Sandbach = Away win
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors = Home win
Dudley Kingswinford v Oundle = Home win
Newport (Salop) v Nuneaton = Home win

Might have a chance of winning this year if more dont enter!

Bridgnorth v Syston = Home win Syston often seem to struggle with step up
Broadstreet v Sheffield = Away win potentially 2 top 5 teams
Bromsgrove v SKiwifruithorpe = Home win Scunny may struggle this year but not based on any hard facts
Burton v Sandbach = Away win Fancy Bach to be there or thereabouts aided by beer tokens
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors = Home win
Dudley Kingswinford v Oundle = Home win
Newport (Salop) v Nuneaton = Home win. Newport my other prediction to be there or thereabouts

My guesses for this week based on absolutely no previous info
Bridgnorth v Syston HW I assume North will be there or thereabouts again this season
Broadstreet v Sheffield  AW It'll be interesting to see who's moved in the midlands merry go round
Bromsgrove v Sunny Scunny  AW Got to back the lads good preseason training
Burton v Sandbach  AW Just guessing with the unpredictable Bach. Burton at their new ground though
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors  HW Expect them to win on their plastic fantastic
Dudley Kingswinford v Oundle HW Unless things have changed then 3rd team in the league usually struggle
Newport (Salop) v Nuneaton HW The Salopians to win on the back off beating Lucs last week

Good luck to all.

I'm sure it will take a few weeks to settle down and see how teams fair post COVID-19.  The pleasing part for Burton is we have a new home (just, still some work to do) and we are fielding 3 teams on Saturday with a total of 58 players. I know other clubs are struggling for numbers so we've done well to retain and attract players.  It made for a difficult selection and glad I was no longer involved and played no part in it.

Anyway, here it goes, based on no research.

Bridgnorth v Syston HW - North normally always strong at home
Broadstreet v Sheffield AW - Sheffield should have too much for street
Bromsgrove v SKiwifruithorpe AW - Can't back against Scunny, kick to the corner, catch and drive
Burton v Sandbach HW - was worried earlier in the week because we have looked a little under cooked but grown more confident as the week went on.  The nucleus of the side from previous season are still there with some welcome additions. Plus the first game at the new game should see us home.
Doncaster Phoenix v Paviors HW - Paviors impressed me last time around but Donny to edge it on home advantage
Dudley Kingswinford v Oundle - AW - my curve ball for the week, why not
Newport (Salop) v Nuneaton HW - Nuns looks well drilled when we played them pre-season but backing Newport, surely its there time, they have been trying for long enough

It's just good to be back!

Hi FP,

Sorry I missed the first week. Things are OK here although as time goes by there are changes.
Did you think about giving us a 4 week grace before starting the predictions. I haven't got a clue about teams strengths? - nothing new I know!
Cymru am byth.

So with the results in we have some league positions.
Good win for Bromsgrove (although I missed Scunny won the 2nd half) as did Newport with TB having have a change of underwear halfway through the 2nd half LOL. Many tight games among the rest although Sandbach look to be setting their stall out. So to league positions
Bin licker sets off to a flying start with a full house, Running man, OFTD and myself missed out by one.
League looks like this
Bin Licker      10
Running man 7
OFTD.           7
Friendly Prop 7
That Bloke     6
Stinger          6
Club 1870      5

I look forward to having a beer with you all during the season once I've got rid of this Covid
