Cracking game yesterday at Dorking that went all the way to the wire

North Walsham have a very good attack (thought the number 12 was a class act) but Dorking limited them to one try with impresive defence and took the few opportunities they had well

In my view a real toss up between NW, Wimbledon and Dorking for the two auto promotion spots that will go on right to the end of the season

Dorking backs were 2nd best by a long way. Number of missed tackles high. Dorking made so many mistakes. Dorking forwards were far superior. Dominated scrums and lineout and won the game up front. NW are a talented carrying team but yesterday they had little creative ideas. Great game which was deservedly won by the hosts.

If the championship takes 14 teams, then 2 are automatically promoted and a 3rd into a playoff. I stand to be corrected.

I’d say the top 5 are all very much in the mix - which makes it a very exciting campaign!

At the beginning of the Season the league secretary confirmed that irrespective of Level 2 decisions re size of Championship 2 teams will get promotion to the new level 4. I would expect once the Championship clubs decide it will manifest itself into  a 3rd club gaining promotion from our league.

North Walsham probably the best team to have visited The Big Field this season. They were fit, skillful, free-flowing, and determined, with excellent backs, especially 10 who was very impressive. I was nervous in the final quarter as the game was on a knifedge. Will be a cracker when we visit Norfolk on 2nd April as our annual gentlemens weekend away.
