Thanks, and done with 4 regulars missing and a hooker at flanker.
Still think you are favourites to top the league 👍

I went along today to watch the Rotherham vs Sedgeley game - two closely matched teams who fought all the way to the end. A true game of two halves - I thought Rotherham left points out on the pitch, some of their decision making left much to be desired - not taking opportunities to kick at goal from a handful of penalties nearly cost them. Sedgeley, in the end were unlucky not to convert their last try, Roth were wise enough / lucky enough to let the maul roll out wide making the last kick difficult. Overall the score line demonstrated why they are top of the table teams.

It was nice to see the Rotherham Knights lads out there contributing to the result. Have to say Lloyd Hayes had a quiet day at the office offensively but did a solid shift in defence. Challi did his usual rock steady solid performance, Smith performed well, in particular in the line out, Quigley won a penalty on his first scrum as a sub and challenged the Sedgeley scrum on most occasions, in the loose he did his defensive work as required, Bergmanus came on as a sub hooker mostly his line out throws went well however it appears Roth did lose a scrum against the head (was that Bergmanus not hooking or a powerful scrum by Sedgeley? I couldn’t tell from my angle).

Keep going Roth National 1 beckons

Thanks for joining us today. We rode our luck at times and there’s stuff to work on for next time! Just glad to have a game after 4 weeks without anything and a win after some late squad changes due to Covid and injuries. Not sure on that scrum either as it was getting a bit murky by that time.

Big thanks to Puli ,and Yogi for keeping everyone up to date our score today ,   I can confirm it was 18-18.

Here's hoping Hull get promoted and spend some money  on travelling rather than players

You need new reading glasses old chap as I never once mentioned your score on here.
Your treasurer will tear his hair out if there is no local derby next season as it is a major revenue spinner for your finances. So be careful what you hope for , but keep trying 🤫

However an apology would not go amiss , but I doubt it will be forthcoming.

Yes, you got out of jail there Roth 2.

I missed the game through illness but the HT score of 19-5 made me feel a lot better.
The full time score made me reach for the whiskey bottle!!

Another false dawn for Stour?

It would appear so but quite what that has to do with this thread I don’t know

If you look back, I think you will find that you mention our score most weeks.

I don't think our Club relies on a local derby to survive although it is a good day at the bar.

If you look back at your post you will see that you said “ … to Puli and Yogi for keeping everyone up to date our score today” (sic)

As I said you may need new reading glasses ….. I never posted any teams score on the forum yesterday….. but keep “digging” … that hole is getting ever deeper Wink

Personally I think Roth will take it, they have two games in hand on Hull but are 4 points behind- I know bird in the hand and all that but I think they will get 5/8 points from those two games. Still it is great to see two Yorkshire teams competing for the top spot.

I know it was!
Yogi beat Puli to it this week but Puli usually likes to post our score, especially when we are losing.
Anyway, there's no point arguing with the elderly ("Lad" - sums it up!).

As you well know the Elderly 'lad' was a school teacher and they always know better than their former pupils .

Exactly, and in this scenario it didn’t take much effort considering the false and fictitious rhetoric

Exactly, once a teacher always a teacher. When you've spent a career always being right in front of various groups of 13 year olds, it is difficult to cope with adults who may answer back or disagree with you.
