Portugal's win over Fiji was needed. I just hope it doesn't wind them up for the quarters.

That, for me, was the most enjoyable game so far.
Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better

I hope it does & we get knocked out. We are playing appalling rugby & hopefully it’ll lead to a root to branch overhaul of the game in this country including the RFU & that chancer Sweeney.

But no doubt he’ll blame the championship for not producing enough quality players.

I admire your confidence that he knows what the Championship is!

I see an all northern hemisphere semi final lineup after this weekends QF. That would be quite something, and the first time in RWC history. How things will have changed in the last 20  - 30 years.

Wales to beat an under performing Pumas side - albeit will be close.

Ireland to beat the All Blacks in what could be game of the century - can't wait for this one.

England to pull away from a tiring Fiji who I think are running out of steam at the crucial moment.

France to boss the Boks up front a la Ireland, and the top quality backs to run in tries from left to right. Whatever nationality you are, France really are a joy to watch in full flow.

Semis = France brush England aside, only one winner there, by quite a lot. And Ireland ditto to Wales.

Ireland and France really are streets ahead of everyone else, with the exception of NZ and SA at the moment - both Ire and Fra deserve their names on the Webb Ellis Cup, but home advantage to just tilt it in Les Bleus favour in the final.

Great to reach the knockout rugby.
Some brilliant group games and some less so.

Portugal were a revelation.

Andy Goode claims on Rugby Pod that Farrell was in a bust up with Arundell. It was alleged that Arundell wasn’t getting picked because of this. England need to start Ford with Farrell on bench

I did think that but I think bust ups in rugby training are normal.

Arundell looks error prone and Borthwick isn't go to risk him.

That's certainly true. A bulk standard training ground disagreement hyped-up by a clickbait rugby "expert".

Arundell is good under the high ball but runs rather than kicking. He is not great at kick chase. That is two reasons why Borthwick won’t pick him.

Must admit I would prefer to see a winger who run’s rather than kicks.
His running try against Toulon was world class.
