Due for broadcast and available on iPlayer from 21st October.

Rucks and Riches: English rugby 'at rock bottom and trying to move ourselves out'

Quote
The past 12 months have been a sobering time for domestic professional rugby union in England.

Just under a year ago, the English Premiership had 13 teams. Now, there are 10.

London Irish,Wasps and Worcester have all gone into administration, and last month Championship title-holders Jersey Reds ceased trading.

Why are so many clubs failing? Is this rock bottom? Or is there more to come?

In iPlayer documentary Rucks and Riches, which will be broadcast this weekend, BBC Sport takes a closer look.

That sounds interesting.

Felicity Kvesic is the reporter.

Felicity is a good reporter, but I think it needed input from an economics journalist.

Someone who could look at the figures and explain quite how Wasps burnt through money faster than the KLF. I exaggerate, but only slightly.

Someone who could explain the nature of the CVC investment.

It should come with a trigger warning, it does include Simon Massie-Taylor talking.
It also includes Martin Bayfield almost talking sense.

I watched it and unfortunately it didn't get close to answering the key question which is explaining what happens to the money. Lots of money goes into the RFU coffers from TV companies, sponsorship, Gate money etc - how is it spent?
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.
