Could you kindly point out who said "Esher is our cup final" that you quoted because I can't find it in the thread?

At the other end of the table, NW are looking out of their league, figuratively and literally.  Otherwise, I think it is one from four for the second relegation place, from Raiders, Sevenoaks, Westcombe Park and Wimbledon.  Squad depth may well play a big part in this as the season progresses.....and Raiders have an unbelievably shallow squad.....and for the second season....no second team at all.  Four red cards already have not helped this situation.  I fear for them although there are still a few decent players at the club. Ouch

Darth...... It really is too soon to call the outcome. Lets have this discussion in mid February. Halliford expects immediate improvement from Esher, where Barnes have already won and Dorking are yet to visit. I think I read somewhere that TJ,s had acquired a large number of Old Elthamians former squad, so yes I expect they will soon go on a run. BP,s may yet prove critical come the end of the season. As for Worthing I am really surprised at the position they find themselves in. I have no idea what has happened, although there have been rumours of several key players moving on during the summer. Of course 2 recent red cards have not helped. I hope Raiders re-group and recover from their current position.

HALLIFORD [/QUOTE] Injuries hindered us early on and we are also looking forward to the end of the World Cup when all of the squad will be available at last!

Wish we at Westcombe had that luxury. How many of your squad are participating in the RWC

Nah.....sorry Fez.....can't wait until Feb.  Another very convincing win for the Dorks.....7 out of 7 TBP wins puts the Dorks in a favourite position for me.  The Barn Elms boys have won their last three games but, I expected these wins to be by more convincing scorelines.
Maybe Halliford is right about Esher....that was a very good performance against the Hawks at Molesey Rd today ?  The Hawks seem a strong side in defence so that was an impressive scoreline.

So I suspect that the top three this year may already be arranged ?

It might be much more interesting at the bottom, with four teams vying not to join NW in the drop.....could the City Side also get drawn in ?  I doubt that.  All of these contenders seem capable of picking up BP's and an very good finishing total might yet not be good enough.  The Oaks got an outstanding draw at TJ's in their local derby.....must have pleased their travelling fans Clap

My lot got some lads back from injury today and picked up an unexpected.....by most....but pleasing 5pts against OA's, who we have made a habit of beating of late Tongue

Will there be a drop?
Or will the leagues get reorganised?
See discussion over in clubhouse chat.

relief to get our first home win of the season and well deserved by Worthing. Always think we have an advantage in the backs but struggle in set piece and generally in the forward battle but that wasnt case today

I watched the Dorking game at a chilly Big Field on Saturday and like many was amazed to wacth the  Dorking No 5, Will Scoles run a try in from his own 10 meter line with Guernsey unable to lay a finger on him

Dorking have always had good conditioning but this year they are just relentless for 80 minutes and seem to have great depth in most positions. It is also good to have a top rate kicker in Henry Anscombe who just keep piling the points on.

Looking forward to the Esher game in early December

From what I witnessed at the TJ game on Saturday I can’t rule them out of the relegation conversation. Sevenoaks were much the better side and were hugely unlucky not to get the win. There was also some very poor behaviour by the TJ players towards the Sevenoaks supporters. Based on the noise it was hard to believe TJ were the home team.

It has taken a hard couple of years work to get them up to Dorkings standards, but we are now reaping the benefitsLOL

just a general question - why have there been no games for two weeks. Presumably linked to world cup, but as those games were at 8 pm , dont quite get the connection. Or am I missing something?

The first week was the regular planned week’s break and then the bigwigs decreed that we all needed the day off to watch the RWC Final - at 8 pm!

Third of the way through the season, what are people’s thoughts? Looking a good race at the top with Barnes and Dorking heading the way, Esher will be confident just in behind (still my favourites to win it). NW, unfortunately look out of their depth and gone, leaving an interesting race to avoid the other relegation spot! Should be an interesting few months ahead!
