VERY SAD NEWS GE was a super fella and great company during our battles with Sevenoaks, enjoyed a beer or two with him and he was superb at the prediction leagues. I will raise a glass to his memory and will also do the same at our first game of the season against Sevenoaks at Hooks Lane |

Teams updates that I am aware of as a Henley Hawks fan are;
Tom Emery, Alex Bradley, Will Crow, Adam Hakimian, Istok Totic, Ryan Crowley, Kasper Strugar, Jordan Oakley have left, some retiring. Dave Manning, and Alex Hayton have moved to Oxford Quinns as previously noted by someone else. Captain Tom Vooght, and Morgan McCrae have moved to Reading Rams in Nat 1. |

An impressive result all the same...
Bury were put to the sword by Doncaster Knights in the first half tonight, but rallied well in the second to lose 68 - 31 to the Championship title contenders

I wouldn't read too much into the second half mate, apparently in the second half knights opted to play with 14 , and it was uncontested scrums.

Blackheath 2's 14-19 Westcombe Park
Excellent game in wet conditions. Good match up for both sides.

I found this on the Luctonians Facebook page posted last Thursday if it will help: Unfortunately Dorking RFC have been unable to raise two teams for this week's pre-season fixtures, therefore two mixed teams of 1st XV and 2nd XV players will be playing each other on Friday night, kicking off at 8pm, bar open from 7pm. |

Quite interesting... a Dorking 2nd XV compromising many squad players of their National 2 squad from last year lost to local rivals... Sutton & Epsom 1st XV 33-17 at home. No 1st XV Game this weekend for them either. With a 52-7 loss to Richmond, 3 weeks ago...

Been some interesting Pre season results plus a few teams only having a single match is there a risk of coming in under cooked ?

We'll find out this Saturday, won't we. We had a good run out against Bracknell but Sudbury cried off last Saturday - not impressed! Our 2s plus a couple of 1's players who missed Bracknell had a good session against Combe 2s on Friday. On another note are we still doing the predictions this season? I am sure the much esteemed Camquin will be in touch.

Looking forward to it all starting over again and the first of several trips over the Dartford Crossing...
Happy will you be there? Not sure how much you can read into Pre Season...1 game, no games, 2 games, very hard to decipher where teams are...BSE have played two much higher sides in Doncaster and then Rosslyn Park just gone (50 - 22 defeat)...who knows if that was good bad or indifferent...as A Oak says we will find out Saturday, although I would say it takes 3 or 4 games for true patterns to really emerge |

3 run outs with 3 wins for us, two at home against Brighton and Wimbledon and a mad game away to Hinckley where we picked up a long term injury 🥴
Looking forward to Saturday against Sevenoaks at the lane where we'll have some sort of idea how we are shaping up We are under no illusions of how tough this league is but it's where we wanna be and we can't wait to get going

With a switch to openly semi-pro, for the first time in more than a decade. Be good to see how Havant go this season at L4. A very strong senior playing base with 3 regular sides, all competing in the leagues. Don't know much about their recruitment, my guess would be 8th-12th place finish.

Bit off topic, but hats off to the Canterbury video team and their commentator who kept me entertained yesterday (especially the 'is this cricket or rugby' quip from the lady mayor at half time when she was invited into the half time 'box'for an interview). Canterbury had a Ron Yeats rugby equivalent playing for them in the 2nd row in the 1st half and were worthy winners.
