I reckon Chris Rea’s road to hell was based on the A303
The Barum lot are a nice mob. The car park attendant even moved a load of furniture to find a space for me within yards of the entrance !!! The Guinness wasn’t bad either !!!

You are correct Darth, our 5th draw of the season…in terrible conditions, particularly in the first half, the standard of rugby from both sides was excellent despite the weather, handling positively outstanding with few knock ons despite the veritable bar of soap being used as a rugby ball.. in contrast to the barbarian rugby played by your lot, this mud-fest/grind-fest produced a miserly 3-3 score line at the break. In the second half Bury threw the kitchen sink at us but our defence was outstanding, the huge pace of scoring kept the 4th official busy, recording one more penalty per team, Barnes finished the stronger team, Bury conceding a yellow in the last few minutes and we could have nicked it with the last play but the ball was spilled just short of the Bury line…all in all a good quality hard-fought 6-6 contest, today’s conditions were much better suited to the geese and ducks that normally occupy these parts than the mud clad human forms actually present.

top job Injun......excellent summary....though you have neglected to advise how much your lads won down the betting shop.
![]() i will take the Barbarians comment as a huge compliment.....and to be fair....one of our lads did actually play for them a few years back.....outstanding

Good to see you again Injun and indeed, considering the conditions both sides should be applauded for the handling skills in such appalling conditions. Bury's lack of cutting edge versus Barnes excellent disciplined defence meant a draw was a fair result.....our first!

I couldn’t get to Hinckley on Saturday, probably to my relief! Esher are suffering from injuries and illness. This week our fullback pulled out on Friday leaving us with just 3 first choice backs. The mud didn’t suit us and with our first choice hooker missing the line out didn’t function. Areas where we have been strong in recent weeks were weak.
Not quite the preparation we needed for Redruth at home and Clifton away! Still, I have to remain optimistic and believe that the firm we need, and were showing, will return. I’ll be at both matches so hope to see other RMs there.

Although i appreciate that none of these teams will ever give up.....i do feel that these next two games are pivotal for the Esher season ? And they do not enter them on the best of form. It will be very interesting to observe the outcomes.
view on Amusingly.....or not.....did anybody see the Matt Salter interview on the Nat League rugby show ? After the defeat of Clifton at home to Choppers......he said that he thought that there were still 3............THREE teams left in the title race. I suspect that my lot won't need much extra motivation, but it is annoying to be notionally excluded from the run-in.....though it may yet prove accurate ![]() ![]() Lastly, some help please on understanding the rules/laws surrounding DR's and loanees. my probably flawed conception is that players under the age of 20 can play down to level 4, BUT....once over that age can only play as low as level 3 ? This makes sense and i think, might also be why Prem academies are keen to get their partner clubs up a level, so that they can continue to field their youngsters at a good standard ?

good win for Worthing today 35 -19 - never really in doubt once we got ahead. Thought we might struggle in this one, so we are still very much in the mix at top of table

Great game at Worthing today.
High tempo with the Worthing backs outstanding throughout.
Leicester by far the best opposition I’ve seen this season so a great 5 points in the bag. |

Phil Cokanasiga been at Rosslyn Pk all season several man of man awards in national one while on loan from Irish trying to get park in the champ Park do not have a game today so appears for Esher Cam Zeiss been at Rams in national 1 for 3 seasons Left Esher when they got relegated 3 years ago .. He’s both started and come off the bench for Rams this season There were also more I’m told but I’ve not seen the team yet Edited by Scrumtime - 26 Feb 2022 at 20:39 |

I believe Phil is an England Academy Player and can be dual-registered with Irish, a Championship side, a Nat 1 side and a Nat 2 sidle and freely switch between them, even after the transfer deadline. We might not like the regulations, but we are stuck with them. I do not know about Cam Zeiss, The transfer deadline has passed, though there is an exception for props.

Sounds like Esher have pulled a few 'old boys network' connections to bolster their seemingly ailing side.
However, I would say today's result as thrown the promotion spot into a genuine 4 way fight. Clifton v Esher next week looking a massive fixture. Looking forward, as usual, to reading the Lions match report from today's game. |

A bit of sniping at Esher this week! We have a close relationship with London Irish Academy whose Manager is a former Esher player. We have had Joe Vajner on d/r for most of the season and Chandler Cunningham-South joined us 3 weeks ago. Both played for England Under 20 on Friday night.
We have been short of Centres since Christmas having lost our first choice pair to shoulder injuries. This week we lost our top try scorer, Dan Rowland, after 15 minutes so we were grateful to London Irish for loaning Phil Cokanasiga under the EAP regulations. He scored 2 tries but so did Tomasz Pozniak, a Polish International making his first home appearance for us. Cam Zeiss still lives near Esher, is friendly with many of the players and had already indicated that he would come back to us next season. He wasn’t playing regularly for Rams so the switch, concluded before the transfer deadline, was in everyone’s interests. I hadn’t seen that win coming, the sun and a firm pitch helped and Redruth simply could not cope with our pace in the wide channels. At least 3 tries were 80 metre efforts. That said, the packs were on a par but this week we defended rolling mauls well, driving Redruth back. Our MoM was Myles Rawstron-Rudd who started the season as second choice centre but really came of age yesterday. Overall it was an excellent performance by Esher against a confident, hard-working Redruth team that kicked and chased well but did not have the penetration from their runners. A good day out!

The point you have totally missed
The centre that won you the game has been on loan all season at another club If Rosslyn pk had a game would he have played for you? Almost certainly not Where will he be next week ? Park have a massive game at Cinderford Esher away at Clifton Let’s see how good your relationship is with London Irish then There is no way in my eyes that should have been allowed to happen, it’s wrong so wrong that it’s allowed What Esher did in my eyes It’s not in the spirit of the game .. Karma has a great way of coming round and biting you on the bum there are several games remaining plenty of time for Karma …and the RFU definition is Spirit of the Game: Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players club and player Was that fair play? |

Scrumtime, I haven’t “totally missed” it. Phil has played 5 times for Park this season, the last game being late January. As you know, we as a Club are supportive of the d/r system, having benefitted over the years from relationships with Harlequins and now London Irish, and they have also benefitted from the game time we give the players.
I don’t know what will happen next week, I hope he stays with us and gets a full game against Clifton’s young Bristol players. We use the system, we don’t bend it. |

The EAP regulations are what they are, and all clubs can make use of them. Cambridge have used them to play Jake Garside (Northampton and Bedford), though I doubt we will see him again this season, unfortunately due to an MCL tear. As long as the Premiership clubs control the academies, the regulations will not change. |

You still do not get it do you!
Nobody cares what relationship you have had in the past Nobody cares who you have on loan for the season, as long as they are with the club for the season Everybody now has loan players Every club has injured players (ask Westcliff) The issue is that you brought this player in Having never been with you before and I would suggest never be with you again ..it’s very wrong The players in your 2s must be thinking, thanks for that The Clifton players are with them for the season as are the Quins guys at Worthing I hope your D of R is on the phone to Stortford this morning They have not got a game in National 1 next week and have a couple on loan from Saracens, you tried borrowing them for a week? Update Having done some homework this morning and asked a few people in the know in National 1 I quote a mail from the NCA sent to All clubs on 20/1 that I have a copy of I quote from the NCA Secretary to all NCA Clubs Just a reminder that this year’s transfer deadline is 18th February. Please remember that any EAP registered with you can only play for you after the deadline if he has been part of the match squad in at least one of your completed 1st XV league match played prior to the deadline. This applied previously to National 1 but has been expanded to National 2 this season. I rest my case …or more to the point has he / they been part of you squad pre this week?? I guess I know the answer Quote We use the system, we don’t bend it. Edited by Scrumtime - 27 Feb 2022 at 15:01 |

Dual registered players is still a murky area for me. All clubs tend to use them but some clubs do tend to sail too close to the wind for my liking.
Personally I would rather see a club draw on their wider squads before drafting in players. It makes a mockery of the game if teams draft in too many players from higher level clubs to inflate their league standings, sustainability is the key to success, sugar daddies or borrowing key players never seems to work in the long run.
