That is what is shown on the National League Rugby page. The BBC shows Leicester Lions v Guernsey and the other two postponed. I heard nothing at Rochford yesterday about a trip to Guernsey, they seemed to be treating yesterday as the end of the season.

Thanks ST! the 1st XV coach journey ignored the rules about staying in your seat and not drinking! They got back to Esher about 8.30 where they were welcomed by our Colts quad who had been holding their annual End of An Era Dinner. I'm told the Bar closed .... eventually!

yes, congratulations to Esher and good luck next season. A thoroughly enjoyable season and lets not forget the misery of no rugby for previous 2 years, so great to be back to close to normal!

Well done Esher and congratulations on your promotion. I hope you make it stick next year and shake em up in national 1.
Commiserations to Redruth Clifton and of course Worthing all of whom were outstanding.

Esher have been there before, and in the Championship and the old National 1. So it is not as though they are a fresh young club. But it is good to have them back. As far as I am aware, Hull are up at level 3 for the first time ever. Could either do a Caldy, mind you, that was Caldy's second attempt. |

Does anyone know if we have a date yet for when the composition of the new leagues will be officially published ?
I have been trying to get my head around it again and have made little progress. I had thought that Guernsey would go SW, but I cannot get 14 teams into a SE division without them. So it seems SE division might comprise: North Walsham Sevenoaks Dorking TJ's Blackheath Barnes Canterbury BSE Westcliff Rochford Worthing Henley OA's Guernsey ?? But this would mean that of the existing NatS incumbents, only 4 go west......Clifton, Redruth, Barum and Dings. Does that mean that both Lions AND Hinckley have to go West as well ? Even if that is the case, there are still only 6 teams ? Where do the other 8 come from ? I imagine there will be 3 level 5 clubs......but still an significant apparent shortfall ? Confused of Sussex |

Thanks for that Camquin......i hope you are correct. A failure of geographic imagination on my part.....I look at the map and struggle to see the Midlands as part of the South West. I guess that the motorway connections make the travel overhead less onerous than it appears from the map.

Cambridge played them in the Powergen Cup about 10 years ago at Hull and lost in a close encounter.

A quick play with Google Maps:
Hinckley to Worthing is 160 miles and takes 3 hours 20 minutes; Hinckley to Redruth is 285 miles and takes 4 hours 37 minutes. That shows the time problem of getting round London.

Guernsey programme stated the game against Worthing on Saturday was their last home game of the season, they are away at Leicester Lions next Saturday. No mention of playing Rochford |

Camquin has posted the most likely composition of the 3 level 4 leagues for next year.
The SE has only one outlier, North Walsham, just hope the visit there is early or late season. The SW division ends up having 7 south west sides and 7 Midlands sides which sort of works - the outlier being Redruth (as usual - but they cannot help that) The North section retains Chester which is just as well IMO. How long we have to wait for the powers that be to agree the final composition is anyone's guess. |

The Lions coach said on facebook that they are awaiting confirmation as to whether Guernsey are travelling to Leicester or not.

Given that National League Rugby is aiming to get the Fixtures out by the end of May, I expect they will have agreed the Leagues in the next couple of weeks. I hope they are reading Camquin's excellent work!

I understand that you will be getting a trip to Hellfire Corner (The spiritual home of Cornish rugby) next season, whilst there is a lot of noise about travelling to the Duchy, most people/teams enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality (Tribute & a Pasty). I enjoyed the game on Saturday and look forward to coming back next season, (not in the rain though).

Are you thinking of National Cup in March 2000 when Cambridge lost at Hull Ionians?
