A tremendous crowd of 1,756 in poor weather.

Here is the Chinnor match report

Thanks Fatbear.

These Friday night games appear to attract 1,000 plus more supporters than a Saturday. I know there are issues for players who work, but for clubs in reasonable proximity it seems a good idea and perhaps an easier sell to attract TV coverage whether at this level or Prem 2.

Clemenston (sic) must have put the result into the BBC as the red button show him scoring two tries LOL

NBTC

In previous seasons the Friday night games at Chinnor attracted around 300-500 more than what would have been expected if the game had been on a Saturday, but a lot more have turned up to the two Friday night games this season, probably due to more importance being been attached to them in terms of league places.

Also, Friday night games enable the players in all the other sides in both clubs to be able to watch the 1st and have a few drinks, as well as players & fans from other nearby clubs who are playing on Saturday. It can also draw people who would otherwise be watching football in the area on the Saturday eg in the case of Chinnor, Wycombe Wanderers, Oxford United, Thame United etc..

But it needs to be a relatively rare event, and against local rivals ( Rams ) or a "big" name ( Rosslyn Park ), to make it special, and Chinnor have done a pretty good job at marketing the Friday night games ( and to be fair so did Rams ! ).  It's probably not good for the pubs in Thame though, as so many people are at the game rather than in the High Street on a Friday night !
