All dependent on the anticipated legal challenges to the current blocking criteria.
Should be interesting...

I hope Cov can make it work.

Amusing reference to "bed-blocking" in the piece, which I am sure is accidental!

Broken down. Beyond repair.

If Cov make it, I hope they don't get fobbed off like Ealing and do take it all the way to court if the RFU try any funny stuff.

Saw the reference, but not the amusement...

I agree with the sentiment but would hate Coventry to spend a shedload of money to try and join a morally and financially bankrupt league.

Cov have already spent a shedload on planning etc, so where do you stop?
However, I do feel that this is more a rattling-the-doorHuckleberry process with the intention of putting the willies up the grown-ups.
It'd be nice if more clubs would join in, but I guess it's where we are.

Should be fun to watch, anyway.

I've waited an awful long time to see my club return to the high ground. Maybe, just maybe, it'll happen before I check out?

The only way Cambridge could apply is with a ground share with United. And that is not going to fly
The council did a feasibility study a few years ago, and it involved selling bouth grounds and building a new stadium. And we said that is fine for the first XV, but what out the other sides. And the council went, we had not thought of that. Then we said, there is a covenant on the ground - it can only be used for sport. Andthe council went - that scuppers it.

I think we will struggle to meet the Tier 2 MOS.

Losing three home fixtures, two against Premiership clubs, put a large hole in the finances making it that much harder to finance any ground improvements.

Though the club is raising money so expect changes when you visit next season. They might not be as substantial as we really want, but better than nothing.

With you there.  Now's not the time and I'd hate to throw away what we currently have going on at BPA.  Cov's time will come...

Yes, I'd already filed that one away for use in future mentions of one of our centre's names.
Now you've highlighted it though... Ouch

Yes I agree, and although Cov have made a strong start this season, they'd not beat a full-strength Newcastle Falcons/other Prem club over two legs, it's a different standard altogether and the Prem Cup has been deceptive in presenting the gulf between Prem and Champ as small, when in reality the Prem Cup squads the top flight clubs have put out are 2nd and in some cases 3rd string/academy sides.

Cov would be better off continuing to enhance their standing in the region, developing the academy they talked about setting up, and seeing how the land lies in 3 - 5 years when Prem 2 is bedded in and the landscape is clearer. They certainly shouldn't be chasing fool's gold in the Premiership before then. It would be financial suicide off the pitch, and they'd be out of their depth on it.
