Club has been sold to a local businessman, who (possibly) had pumped a shedload of brass in already.

Really not sure what to make of this

Gerald Quinn seems to own at least couple of engineering companies in Sheffield that seem to be making a bob or two.
Vulcan Engineering made just over £2m profit after tax last year.
So unlike some people who have taken over some Rugby clubs, he looks to be just what he says he is.

Hoever the Northern Echo headline listed him as Ged Quinn and the wikipedia entry is that name is someone completely different.

The first part of your statement is indeed correct. Gerald Quinn aka Ged Quinn

I wonder if there is anything left for the members?  They were worth a fair bit when the club sold its Yiewsley Drive ground 7.5 yrs ago

The other Ged Quinn is 4 years younger and from Liverpool. He paints and plays keyboards.

No longer a members club, actually very upsetting, I hope the route of moving to a professional club and away from a community hub works well for Mr. Quinn. I for one will be finding a new local club.

The football club have applied to move back into the arena short term also.

Seems to be looking like an Ealing Trailfinders model, 30 years I have been going to DMP, now it is a play toy of a wealthy business man. The miss-management leading up to this has essentially forced the sale. Again a sad day up north

How long for the DMP Elizabethians to find their own home, along with the 20+ mini and junior teams

The Ealing model has taken a lot longer so at least DMP are starting at a higher level but costs a shed load of cash and still no guarantees even less possible should the ring fencing become reality and the rejigging of level 2

This smells very similar to the Dave Whelan take over of Orrell....that didn't turn out well

The article says that Mr Quinn has already 'loaned' the club £2m. Neither he nor anyone in their right mind would think for a moment that the club has even the slightest possibility of repaying him unless they sell the stadium. And good luck with that even if it is the plan. Strange days indeed.

Good luck to him. As a regular spectator it hasn’t felt anything like a member‘s club since moving to the Arena.

Get yourself down to Sedgefield Front 5, a more community members club you will not find and we need all the help we can get!

Does Graeme Brennan still play at Sedgefiled? I played with him a while down at Chester
