I post this for the benefit of Bedford supporters initally but I expect that the same arrangements will apply all season. I am past trying to defend the facilities (haters gonna hate, etc) and, indeed, this is getting harder. If people want to climb in and start another polemic that's up to them. I am assuming, of course that there are still a few visiting supporters prepared to turn up, holding their noses if necessary.

We had already been told that the North Stand (all-seated) and the east terrace (standing) are the only options this season. So if, like me, you prefer to stand but watch from side on, you've had it. We have now learnt that the gates will only open one hour before kick-off and that there will be no food sold in the cafe bar, only in the north stand bar and catering vans. As to the solo barrel of cold, cloudy Black Sheep, who knows?

The new stands are very shiny and new and the view is excellent.

For those who prefer more of a day out I can only repeat my previous advice - visit Headingley the district, not just the ground. There are numerous options for eating and drinking within a ten minute walk.

Finally, express your opinions by all means but please don't shoot the messenger! I'm just a supporter like most folk on here.

Albert have always had the greatest respect for the Leeds fans and players I hope that goes for the majority of the forum contributors any negativity is towards the board and those that have led the club into this terrible situation.

Albert, the travelling hoards will have a couple of hours to waste before the gates are open. Any suggestion with regard to a suitable watering hole would be appreciated.

Assuming the bus doesn't break down! Nearest are the Skyrack and the Original Oak back up on the main road. Both likely to have students in for the cheap Sunday roast. Personally I would go for the Oak of those two, usually 3 or 4 cask ales on.

Headingley Taps and Head of Steam also popular but maybe for a slightly younger crowd. If you're not after food and don't mind going slightly further Arcadia is a good spot for real ale and the idiot-strength hipster brews.

If you are feeling really adventurous you could do a mini Otley run. Head a bit further out to Woodies up Otley Road (newly refurbished, only opened Thursday so haven't seen it myself) then Three Horseshoes, New Inn, skip Arcadia if there are a lot of you as they don't like it then finish in the Oak or Skyrack which leaves you a brisk 5 minute walk from the ground. You then have the option of sleeping it off in the new North Stand seats!

It’s not your fault Albert, but if I’m going to have to travel to Otley, I’m going to watch Otley.

Nick - the pubs suggested as a 'mini Otley run' are a couple of minutes drive from Headingley Stadium ...or a brisk 15 minutes walk (..... along the Otley Road ….which does eventually go to Otley)

Many thanks Albert, our coach arrived in PLENTY of time for us to enjoy the Original Oak, wish there was a similar one near G R with the prices and food to match. Fully recommended.

Glad to hear it. I seem to recall some good ale houses from my one trip to Bedford but the memories are a bit fuzzy! I do know that we ate in the only all-you-can-eat Mongolian restaurant I've ever come across.

Thanks to Bill Sley for the input on the confusingly-named Otley Run. It has its own website if anyone is bored enough to Google it. Beloved of students and older visitors who ought to know better, but a right pain in the hazelnut for locals. The A660 run would be more accurate but not as catchy.
