Ealing Trailfinders to face London Scottish: Probably the strongest side that we could put out, so it looks like Ealing want to progress in the cup, even if that means some long away trips. Glad to see Tom Collins back in the squad after a long absence.

London Scottish Team to Face Ealing - A changed side from last week, with six moves from the side that battled Saracens last weekend. The name that jumps out to me is Jonah Holmes, who I don't believe has actually turned out for them often this year so far, but finds time against his previous club. Also see a familiar name in Steven Kerrins.

  1. Will Prior
  2. Calum Scott
  3. Ashley Challenger
  4. Jonny Green
  5. Alex Wardell
  6. Ioan Rhys Davies
  7. Jack Ingall (cc)
  8. Zach Carr
  9. Jonny Law (cc)
  10. Alec Lloyd-Seed
  11. Noah Ferdinand
  12. Robbie McCallum
  13. Hayden Hyde
  14. Roma Zheng
  15. Jonah Holmes

Replacements

  1. George Head, 17, Ntinga Mpiko, 18. Caleb Ashworth, 19. Tom Johnson, 20. Lewis Barrett, 21. Stephen Kerins, 22. Tom Wilstead, 23. Bryn Bradley

Quite a Welsh looking Scottish team thanks to Harlequins kids.

I hope Ealing recognise the threat of kicking the ball to Jonah Holmes in open field at the back. He is an exceptional player when he is on form.

Gerg. Re: your reference to possible ‘long away trips’ for Ealing in KO phase…

since there are only 2 or 3 long trips, & Sale can’t qualify as a pool winner, does that mean you’re expecting a dress-rehearsal of the promotion play-off (that may never happen) against Newcastle? Or perhaps Exeter? And the use of the plural indicates optimism about a QF win?
