How will leaving the EU at the end of this year affect Kolpac players. Will the RFU revert to two overseas players only in a match day squad.

As yet there has been nothing from the RFU and IMO it would be hard to change prior to  Jan 31st so IMO it will remain as is for current season but don’t take that as anything other than my assumptions

I am not sure the RFU could make a statement yet - it needs to wait until there is clarity from the Government.

I have to agree with the above. The RFU can do nothing until the government says so. And even if the  RFU do say on the day of departure you can't have them, there will be the issue of having to change the regulations part way through the season.

Kolpak players are rife in County Cricket. Popular opinion seems to be 2020 will be the last year for signing up players on Kolpak basis due to Brexit.

I imagine, as things stand those on contracts will be allowed to play until the end of thaeir current contract then ?

Presumably if that's true, any smart club would sign a 5 year contract for a kolpak so the player can just get citizenship at the end and be considered a domestic player anyway.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way, if a regulation changes you will be asked to submit the updated visa. What would be better is players to apply to stay in the UK following Brexit or apply for indefinite leave to remain if they have been here for 5 years or marry a UK person

Yes - irrelevant of what the RU say, if the Home Office changes the Visa regs that is that - law trumps industry/sporting regs

But the limit on only two non domestic players is an RFU rule.
So if the government decides halfway through a season the EU and  Kolpak players are no long domestic - the RFU could say we will waive that rule for the remainder of the season.

Last year during the summe we were told that the regulations would stay in place for the season hence my assumption that this season will be the same. Again an EU passport holder can apply to stay in the UK post Brexit
