The league  table is already fragmenting with 5 unbeaten teams, none on two wins, 6 on one and 3 on none. Match of the day has to be Rochford Hundred v Guernsey which should reduce the unbeaten teams but I suspect Rochford and Wimbledon have one eye on their meeting in four weeks as suspect they may well remain unbeaten until that clash

Dorking's win over LIWG has imbued me with a previously undiscovered confidence to be more than just a touch risque with my picks this week....

Bedford 1 v Sidcup 5 - Bedford desperate, but I can't pick against Sidcup after an impressive start.
CS 4 v Dorking 1 - Going against the grain for a home upset.
LIWG 5 v Brighton 1 - Brighton to feel LIWG frustration from Dorking, LIWG backs to cut loose.
Sevenoaks 4 v Guildford 1 - Further upsets to the apple cart with a close home win.
Tring 4 v Wimbledon 1 - Anarchy in LSE this week it appears!
TW 2 v Hertford 5 - TW supporters will be pleased to know that I haven't picked TW once this year, so can probably start celebrating this as a TW win now.
Rochford 1 v Guernsey 4 - After all of the upsets predicted above, it would be rude to go against the underdogs here. At least the 100's BP streak remains alive Wink

I believe this week will go a long way to establishing the pecking order in the run up to Xmas before the inevitable injury crises hits. The last three games are of particular interest, I can hardly wait to be wrong!

Another week and it doesn't get any easier!

Bedford 0 v Sidcup 5 - Bedford's bubble from last season seems to have burst and Sidcup have started strongly.

CS 2 v Dorking 5 - Superb result for Dorking at the weekend after righting the wrong of the TW loss. Strong away win.

LIWG 5 v Brighton 0 - Brighton won't get any joy here. Comfortable home win.

Sevenoaks 4 v Guildford 1 - Sevenoaks too good at home for G's.

Tring 1 v Wimbledon 4 - Tring not firing and Dons seem to be on song. Big game going Dons way.

TW 0 v Hertford 5 - TW have started well, but Hertford I feel will control it upfront.

Rochford 5 v Guernsey 2 - Massive game. Going with the home team.

Toss of a coin on some of these as usual .
I’m hoping to watch Rochford v Guernsey as its local and I haven’t time to travel to Sutton to support Westcliff. I think this could be a great game.

Bedford 2-2 Sidcup-Good start by Cup but this will not be so easy and home side to fight back.
Cs Stags 1-5 DORKING-D's win last week was emphatic and they can build on it with players returning.
LIWG 5-0 Brighton-Geese will emerge with passion after last weeks defeat and visitors face an uphill task.
SEVENOAKS 4-1 Guildford-Oaks will not have many better chances at this level and must not waste this chance. Difficult prediction however.
Tring 1-5 WIMBLEDON-Results indicate Tring are not firing as many expected they would, whereas Dons are on fire and have set out their stall.
Tunbridge Wells 1-4 HERTFORD-Despite 3 wins for Twells, expect Hertford to take the spoils in a low scoring game.
Rochford100 0-4 GUERNSEY-Battle of defences. RH are clearly ambitious and financially backed but so are Raiders who were excellent at Dorking on D1. I think class will tell, but which team has the all round strength. Could go either way. MOTD.

This league was difficult to predict last season and even more so this. The RH v Raiders game will answer a lot of questions. Two of the promoted teams have already felt the intensity at L5, but may well settle in as the season progresses. No room for mediocrity or complacency from any side. Good luck to all.

Bedford                                  Sidcup      2-5     Have to go on form with this one

CS Stage                                 Dorking   1-4      even Dorking's notorious away form can't persuade me to back CS

LIWG                                     Brighton    5-0     No Contest.

Sevenoaks                               Guildford   5-0    ditto

Tring                                        Wimbledon   2-5   Tring stuttering start to continue.

Tunbridge Wells                      Hertford     0-5    Injuries cost us the win on Saturday in a very even match.

Rochford                                 Guernsey  5-2     Rochford to sneak it but guernsey have a pack capable of competing (especially the hairy prop!!)

Bedford 0 - 5 Sidcup - beat us twice last season, won't underestimate them but backing us for the 5

CS Stage 1 - 5 Dorking - pretty sure Dorking don't normally travel well, expecting a lot of tries

LIWG 4 - 0 Brighton - blues pack will put put WG under pressure but don't see them winning

Sevenoaks 4 - 0 Guildford - first home win for oak's

Tring 0 - 4 Wimbledon - wouldn't normally have Tring losing at home, but dons come through tough game

Tunbridge Wells 5 - 1 Hertford - Rtw to carry on winning streak

Rochford 5 - 1 Guernsey - battle of the packs, R100 to make it 52 wins

Bedford 0-5 Sidcup
Bedford having a nightmare start and can only see it continuing as they lost to Sevenoaks who has previously be well beaten by Sidcup
CS Stags 0-5 Dorking
Hopefully D's season now up and running, so more pain for CS
LIWG 5-1 Brighton
I thought LIWG would be stronger than they have been but will still be  too strong for Brighton
Sevenoaks 5- 1 Guildford
Not a Scooby so going with home team
Tring 1-5 Wimbledon
Tring ran Rochford closer than the other teams but still feel that Wimbledon will have too much
Tunbridge Wells 2-5 Hertford
Hertford have played the top two and expect last years form to show through and give TW their first L
Rochford 5-2 Guernsey
Still not sure about the form line of Rochford and having seen Guernsey think this will be their first real test so will have a better idea after this one

Early days, but here's hoping Combe are on the way back! I should try to keep my hand in.

Bedford                                  Sidcup 0- 4  Bedford  seem to have fired late last season and may still  do so   again!

CS Stags                                 Dorking            1-4   Big  relegation  derby   but  if you believe everything Dorking tell you ,  wise up!

LIWG                                     Brighton 5-1   Brighton seem to be finding the step up pretty challenging.

Sevenoaks                               Guildford 1-4   Kent's   wealthiest  may need to go to their pockets again soon!

Tring                                        Wimbledon    0-4  Not that sure from what  little experience I have of Tring.  Rumour has it that Wimbledon are  absolutely desparate for success!

Tunbridge Wells                      Hertford 0-5   Bye, bye TW ! Hope we do not see you soon!

Rochford                                 Guernsey 1-4  Not  my  banker  by any means given   home advantage and  Rochford's  impressive money fuelled  run. Sides coming up also  tend to beat sides going down but I have a hunch!.

It’s called an amateur club dealing with injuries and players going to Japan! Players don’t commit to the rugby season like yesteryear and when you are managing a smallish squad results will differ. TJs on the road today at Bournemouth, thumped them, but cancelled their 2s game last night through lack of players. Preferences are different now and especially so in National One and Two. Our Club was lively until the last bell, but if you are going to change the model of your club through paying players, then you are potentially killing off your 2s,3s and so on. It’s a Club’s individual choice but we have seen casualties and there will be more. Grassroots is the key.

Thank you "the dead gorilla" for hauling "Gumbo's Ghost over the coals for purveying fake news. Sevenoaks have never and still do not pay players - period.

Perhaps they rested some squad players rather than play a friendly game?

Keith I’m not sure which of the 2 Welsh boys you are talking about but I would be keen to know which it is. I happen to know them both very well and can assure you they are not being paid. I remember the President buying a jug of lager for the boys after a game. Is that payment? If so, does he also get in trouble for buying beers for the opposition?!!

Oh I do love these holier than though forum posts, it will always go down to what a persons view on paying players is. Such a pity Kentishman let himself down with his grammar!!

I'm sure Oaks are "whiter than white" now and with the current RFU rules for paying players they are playing by the rules.

I'm sure certain local Kent clubs are just waiting for evidence to hang each other after the Medway debacle. At the time there were some interesting comments on how rife paying was in Kent and how blinkered the enquiry was.

Simple fact is that you have come on here stating facts that are simply lies. I would happily call you a moron to your face.

Hi Cannon, the important difference between my comments on here those of our tiger friend are that mine come from a factual standpoint. His, I’m afraid, are all fabricated lies intended to cause trouble. Nobody has been on here claiming their club is “whiter than white” but to categorically say that a club is paying match fees, when it is not, is totally out of order. He needs to step up or shut up. Hope that grammar was ok for you!!

Payment doesn't have to be in match fees.....

I'm not one to stir the pot, but being local to Sevenoaks and knowing plenty of current coaches and players at most of the clubs in my area (TJs, T Wells, 7 Oaks, Combe etc) that the "we don't pay anything" I feel is a bit stretched.
Whilst money may not change hands, 7 Oaks has had its fair share of "foreign" players in recent years. Now 7 Oaks is lovely and it may be the case that players travel from the other side of the world of their own accord to live and work there....or it may not be.
What I think isn't based on any facts, just talking with well connected people in the local rugby network. I try to take everything I hear in the rugby circles with a pinch of salt but equally there usually isn't smoke with at least some embers. Or it may genuinely be a load of twaddle!

This will probably be construed as a "dig". It's really not. Out of all of my local clubs, I've always liked 7 Oaks and the way they have operated in recent years. With an incredible emphasis on "one club" and creating an atmosphere that people want to be involved in. Hat's off to all involved.

But one thing you will have to accept at this level is that you won't change what people think of your club when it comes to the whole "payment" issue. Not that I see it as an issue if it's done in the right way. The rumor mill is rife and stubborn.

Just enjoy the ride. No one really cares what's going on outside of these forums anyway. 7 Oaks is enjoying incredible success at the moment.
