With three weeks reserved in March for the knock-out rounds of the Premiership Cup, as most Championship sides will have been eliminated, is there anything preventing them from bringing forward matches from May to play in those weeks and so avoid having 5 consecutive games in May if both sides want to ?

No chance. The fixtures have been published for some time and will be honoured on the said dates. (I don't think) the Championship is some Mickey Mouse league (yet) where clubs can opt to arrange their fixtures willy nilly.

It would happen in Football when there is a free week due to sides having cup commitments. I'd say in this case it's the Championship and the RFU that is Mickey Mouse............

That would before to sensible. Having this massive gap in fixtures for the majority of clubs, and then five matches in May is bonkers.

I imagine there will be some friendlies in that period for the clubs that didn’t make it.
