Well Dorking lose their 100% at Sevenoaks and face another tough assignment hosting now 2nd placed North Walsham who beat Wimbledon on Saturday. It looks like a cold and wet day at the Big Field so will make sure i have a port at the lunch!. At the other end of the table Maidenhead will be looking for points agains a stuttering S&E. I think we can safely say we need to factor the weather in going forward, so not many 4 try bonus points

CS Stags 1863                        Havant

Dorking                                    North Walsham

Hertford                                   Brighton

Maidenhead                            Sutton & Epsom

[CS Stags 1863 0-5 Havant ( Stags to get hunted down again)
Dorking 4-1 North Walsham (Think Dorking will bounce back, but...could easily go the other way, so going with home advantage)
Hertford 5-0 Brighton (Long trip, possible heavy traffic en route, will make this too difficult for the Blues)
Maidenhead 0-4 Sutton & Epsom (S & E to inflict A & E )
Tring 1--4 Sevenoaks (Changed my mind three times on this and another that could go either way)
Tunbridge Wells 0-5 Wimbledon (Apologies to TW but they appear to have  been on a Spa break recently)
Westcombe Park 4-1 Sidcup (Forget Xmas cheer, this ain't gonna be a cracker, no presents being exchanged, and no goodwill to all men)
.
Hope everyone enjoys their games and stays injury free.

We will get 5 a point 20-0 win awarded and they get 5 points deducted

It is going to be a cold day at the Big Field but Dorking back to winning ways

Weather is a great leveller but still going with the home win
Maidenhead 4-0 Sutton & Epsom
13th v 11th and have a feeling Maidenhead will sneak it against a so far disappointing S&E

Tunbridge Wells 0-5 Wimbledon
Only one winner
Westcombe Park 4-0 Sidcup

Won’t be the last game they will postpone either. I think the club will be folded before the season ends. They have had 4 players sign for clubs elsewhere the past week. It’s a sinking ship.

Shame really with the history they've got no one wants to see a club fold
Dont know what's gone on there  but every time I've been there it's always been a soulless place with about 6 supporters and half a dog!  a club that seems to be in existence (and I'm guessing here)  due to the fact of a couple of people with money to spend ?

Just looking back at the 2019-20 season, I reckon seven players from their squad are now at London Welsh, including four who can play in the front row, which obviously is making things difficult for them.  I've spoken to two of the players in the matchday programme and they've both talked about having reached a crossroads in their playing career, looking to reignite their passion for the game, and finding a 'proper' rugby club.  Sounds like things are not good down there at the moment.

Dorking                                    North Walsham   4-1  I wonder how much last week took out of NW

Hertford                                   Brighton               5-0  Need 5 here to keep the pressure on.

Maidenhead                            Sutton & Epsom   2-5  Depends which S&E turns up.

Tring                                        Sevenoaks           5-2  Just have a feeling Tring will take this one

Tunbridge Wells                      Wimbledon          0-5  Can't see TW stopping W here.

Westcombe Park                     Sidcup                5-0   WP will be too good.

Shame about CS, but I've had the impression they've been struggling for a while.

If they have I wonder how much money they’re throwing at the coaches this time around. Lawrence was rumoured to be some hefty wages with his imaginative 3 year plan of getting Westcombe promoted from London 1 > National 2 within that period. That’ll never happen.

Andy Pratt I hear has joined, 5-6 weeks ago and is running the coaching sessions.

Lawrence is still D of R I understand, but its Pratts input as well as a new forwards coach that has seen the upturn of form

MOTD at Tring IMO and a difficult game to predict, however Tring have some decent form and difficult to oppose at home. Expect this to be very close and much depends on how Oaks have recovered after their defensive war against D's last saturday. Tring should not attempt to fly hack out of their own 22.!!
Good luck to all.

I think you mean mis-information WR!

Thanks for the nod Tony, it was a very good game but absolutely gutted to lose with the very last play of a 53 minute 2nd half, but credit to your guys who never stopped believing and kept the ball alive to secure the match winning try.
Very much looking forward to the return fixture at 'Combe.

SIR Q
Our score board read 53 mins at the end but it can be misleading to most,  the digital timer just keeps rolling and doesn't take the ref's stoppages into consideration
Weve tried to stop the timer but it cant be turned off!!!
Anyway if you play like you did on Saturday  your game against much loved rivals Sidcup this weekend will be an early crimbo present for the Combe faithful

Cracking game yesterday at Dorking that went all the way to the wire

North Walsham have a very good attack (thought the number 12 was a class act) but Dorking limited them to one try with impresive defence and took the few opportunities they had well

In my view a real toss up between NW, Wimbledon and Dorking for the two auto promotion spots that will go on right to the end of the season

Dorking backs were 2nd best by a long way. Number of missed tackles high. Dorking made so many mistakes. Dorking forwards were far superior. Dominated scrums and lineout and won the game up front. NW are a talented carrying team but yesterday they had little creative ideas. Great game which was deservedly won by the hosts.

If the championship takes 14 teams, then 2 are automatically promoted and a 3rd into a playoff. I stand to be corrected.

At the beginning of the Season the league secretary confirmed that irrespective of Level 2 decisions re size of Championship 2 teams will get promotion to the new level 4. I would expect once the Championship clubs decide it will manifest itself into  a 3rd club gaining promotion from our league.

North Walsham probably the best team to have visited The Big Field this season. They were fit, skillful, free-flowing, and determined, with excellent backs, especially 10 who was very impressive. I was nervous in the final quarter as the game was on a knifedge. Will be a cracker when we visit Norfolk on 2nd April as our annual gentlemens weekend away.
